Feeling so lazy, even if I need to do a lot of school works I decided to dream of myself playing a guitar. Then I browse my Rock Nation Song hits and I saw the guitar chords. Then I get a paper and draw 5 horizontal lines and 6 diagonal lines. Then I imagined that as my guitar. Yes, I’m really looked stupid with that but I don’t care because I really wanted to play guitar. I’m learning via air guitar how to play “Huwag mo nang Itanong” by eraserheads thinking that it is easy. With only a number of chords. Then D and G major muna. Tapos tinignan ko sa guitar chords. Actually kahit konti may guitar experience na ako at my 4th year high school. Where my classmates and schoolmates bring their guitars and play with it during recess or lunch breaks. Kaso I’m confused about the open and dead string. Pano ba yun? Nagagawa ko yung D and G major but I’m but I’m not sure kung tama. Grrr… wala kasing mag tuturo sa akin… wanna help? Anyone out there? hahaha

Reunion, under construction?

"Sumasakit ang ulo ko kakaisip sa'yo"

I never felt this certain feeling before. Something in me tells that ereaserheads reunion is on the way. Why is that? Because I’ve seen some symptoms that the reunion will imminent. First, the real reason of the break up was identified. I think it’s around 2005 when Diane Ventura was interviewed at PULP magazine. (If you haven’t heard about it click) Then I read at a song hits that when someone asked Ely who is the closest band to them he said The Dawn. Then when Ely had a heart attack, Marcus and Buddy didn’t hesitate to support him. So with that lumalaki yung chance that the reunion will happen. But Raymund is the only one who is not in the whole Ely scene. I mean, he didn’t go at LIVEly, at the hospital or they even didn’t talk to each other. Well now hindi pa rin ata nangyayari yun. Pero the fact that the Ely, Raymund, Marcus and Buddy seen in one roof is (14th NU Rock Awards) a huge improvement to this whole brouhaha.

Sana kasama ko sila ng nag Life in the Spirit Seminar. Hehehe… there you will know how to forgive and forget the sins that someone did to you. You will also learn to ask for forgiveness. My point is, it is almost 5years and counting since the break-up happened. Then how many years yung friendship? Nakakalungkot isipin na sa isang hindi pag kakaunawaan natapos ang lahat. Limited lang ang buhay ng tao, kailangan mag kapatawaran na. Pero it’s still up to them. I can’t do anything if they still stick on the decision na mag imagine na lang tayo na magyari ang reunion nay un. Yeah I know that I said let’s move on to this things. Pero you can’t blame me on wanting this to happen since I’m too young when those things happened. Kahit 1 night lang, kahit 1 kanta nga lang eh… basta ma experience ko ang na experience mga tao dati, to see eraserheads together. Pagkatapos nun, kanya kanya na lang ulit.

Band Review

I’m here to tell what happened in the year 2007 in case you are not here, or just lazy to know in our own music scene. I will concentrate more about the band scene. O.k. so let’s get it on.

The OPM Band scene is not that strong unlike 2006. International artist are taking over the OPM Band scene once again. A lot of foreign artist went here mostly on the 2^nd to 4^th quarter of the year like Fall Out Boy, Josh Groban, Baby Face, Baby Bash, Beyoncé, Akon, Click 5 and others that I don’t know and don’t remember. Last year there were number of songs that were running to be the Song of The Year that came from a band like “Narda”, Sugod” and “Bitiw”. These songs are really popular that every human being here in the Philippines knows how to sing. But now I can’t think of a band song that is so famous. Maybe there is but I can’t accept it. o.k. I guess CallaLilly (don’t know the correct spelling) songs are popular. But “Don’t Matter”, and “Beautiful Girl” are songs that every people in various ages and shapes knows.

Why is that? Maybe because 2007 is the year of disbanding, leaving and misunderstanding of band members. This year is not really good for the bands. The most notable band that undergoes on that situation is Rivermaya. Rico Blanco decided to leave the band and pursue other things out of the music scene. He is a huge lost for OPM. But that’s not yet the end of the leaving members of the band it is just the start of it. Clem Castro of Orange and Lemons was kick out of the band. He also contributes a lot in the music of the band. But after that, Orange and Lemons decided to disband due to musical differences. Duncan Ramos and Vince Alaras left Southborder. Unlike Orange and Lemons Southborder still continues the life of the band with Jay Durias taking over the fronting the band. Bogs Jugo of Pupil also left his band. Independent bands were also included here in the Band brouhaha, Dicta License and Narda disbanded. But when someone leaves someone will come. Jayson Fernandez replaced Rico Blanco and Wendell Garcia for Bogs Jugo.

Revivals are still hot as hell. Like KaminAPOmuna Ulit, We Stand Alone together and other albums by bossa nova artist, and solo performers. On album sales I can’t still understand why Willie Revillame, Sitti or other bossa nova artist gained Gold or worse Platinum award than Pupil, Up dharma Down, Urbandub and other good bands.

SinoSikat?, Urbandub, Kastigo, Jeepney Joyride, 6cyclemind, Pupil, Stonefree, Rivermaya, Moonstar88 were just the few bands that released an album for this year.

Some notable events happened like Kjwan won in the 1^st Ikon contest beating other contestants in different countries and were held on Malaysia. Chicosci also joined a contest competing with other bands from other countries. I don’t know if it is notable but Macoy Fundales of the late Orange and Lemons joined Pinoy Big Brother. Different bands unite to have a fund raising event for Ely Buendia after his Heart Attack.

There are also bands that are popular in the previous years but now it seems they are struggling. Like Rocksteddy, Hale, Barbie Almalbis, Cueshe, Kitchie Nadal, Brownman Revival. They are all released there songs but it is quite a flop.

So over all even if it the band scene is not that good if you talk about popularity unlike previous years, for me it doesn’t matter because their music what matters most sumikat man o hindi. But after everything, I know you will agree that it is the year of “Papaya”.

Cinderella time

After the standoff at Makati, they decided to implement curfew, from 12:00-5:00 am. I heard that the last time it was applied was at Martial Law. I got scared at first because I thought Martial law will be implementing again. I heard lots of sad stories about that. Anyways, I agreed on having curfew. With that, I think crimes and accidents will be lesser. But I know that it can affect taxi, jeepney drivers, 24/7 stores and all of those people who has job at night. Having curfew means less gimik and more staying at home which means lesser bad things can happened maybe with curfew the percentage of having premarital sex and teenage pregnancies will be lower.
