Si Ely mismo…

“Turn off the lights now!!”

Ely is in the commercial once again!! He is the new endorser of Coke Zero alongside Billy Crawford and Gabby dela Merced. Ely is the star endorser I must say. Hehehe… He is the person I know that keeps on looking better when getting older. I said before that Ely looks like Smokey Manoloto when he is only starting with Eraserheads. Anyways, at ASAP Pupil was there to perform. Before that Rafael Rossel and Angelica Panganiban was mentioned by the host. Then they also said the name of Yan Yuzon. Then I saw some dancers then I thought Yan will dance. Oh well, he played guitar which what he does best. He is great. Then Pupil played “Disconnection Notice” with Gary V. it was nice. I think it’s the first time Ely and Pupil performing in ASAP for how many years. He was interviewed by Iya and asked something and he said something like he starts with nothing….etc… Then in his commercial he was telling it is good to start with zero. He really looks good there. Pero at the billboard parang may photoshop effect. Well anyways astig…

As I about to finish this post I saw another commercial of Ely. This time he is not alone. He is with Raimund Marasiga, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro. Yeah boy!! It is an eraserheads commercial for Sandbox. I am now starting tolove commercials since puro si Ely ang nakikita ko. Hehehe…. Ely has 3 commercials right now, the Ako mismo commercial, the Coke Zero and the Sandbox commercial. Astig talaga… yung commercial is really good they are just performing “alapaap” pero astig talaga… tapos parang they are just laughing and hanging out…

Ako mismo ay hindi magtatapon ng basura kahit saan. Naiinis talaga ako pag nakakita na tao na nagtatapon kahit saan. Hindi pwede hindi lilipas ang araw na wala akong nakikitang nagtatapon ng basura. Bullshit… Isa pa ang daming dumudura… WTF talaga…

Books of Summer

My vacation is almost over. It’s been a good vacation for me. First, we went to Hong Kong. We were lucky that A(H1N1) was not yet known at that time. But you know what? When I was at the airport and we were searching for the baggage counter, a stewardess came running towards me. She couldn't speak English, but she was pointing at my ears. I thought my cross earrings were not allowed in Hong Kong! Then she took out this thermometer and put it in my ear. My family was laughing so hard because they said I looked sabog or sick! I remembered my prof who told me that I look like the Ebola virus… Hahaha! Good times…

Then I had this training for almost a month. They promised to give us ₱60 per day as an allowance, but we still haven't received it. I hope they give it soon. It’s almost June. WTF!!!

Then I finished reading books that I was dying to read. It’s a nice combination: I read The Secret, The Alchemist, and I’m still reading The Catcher in the Rye. Hehehe… The latter one was written decades ago, but I think Holden's situation is really modern. I think it’s a really good book, but I’m not yet done reading it. FYI, my cousin’s name is Holden, so now I know where my Tito got it! It’s a nice book to read to start a new school year—it’s about a boy who failed almost all his subjects.

Anyways, I’m not yet done reading New Moon because I lost interest. Well, I was about to finish reading it, pero tinamad na ako. The movie helped me not finish it. I am not a fan of Twilight—I’m reading it just for the hell of it. I’m still looking forward to reading Paulo Coelho’s books. I think I might read those books since I really have a lazy schedule.

Speaking of my schedule, I call it "lazy" because in a 5-day school week, I’ll only go to school 3 times. Tapos puro half-day, at puro pang-gabi din. Sabi ko nga kay Lis, kung may Swine Flu man sa school namin, 'di kami mahahawaan kasi laging half-day at pang-gabi kami! Ahahahah…

Oh, I want to start my 4th year in college… I’m dying to graduate!!

An open letter to God

Dear God,

Please don’t let it happen. We are all in need of change, and to achieve that, we have to change ourselves and change our leader. Well, or so I believe. Please guide the people in power so they won't let Cha-Cha or Con-Ass happen. I may only know a little about those things, but whenever I hear about them, it seems to mean only one thing… no election will happen in May 2010. And it’s supposed to be my first time to vote pa naman. It would be the time for me to elect a candidate who I think is right for the highest office. I feel like that experience will show me that I can have a voice, even if only for a moment. Please God, our leader needs to step down. She has already taken so much from us. To me, every second she stays on her throne, another peso from our national funds slips away. Don’t let that keep happening.

I am not against changing the Constitution, but there is a right time for it. And I think the right time is after we elect a new leader. Am I right, God? Please also help us elect the right person. We are deeply in need of a great leader who will not be blinded by power and money. Please let the youth like me help make a difference, too. We are indeed the hope of the future.

The issue of the sex scandal is not yet over… it is still a hot topic…

Anyways, what I want to say about this entire hullabaloo is the Senate's involvement. I know this is a huge issue. When I saw Sen. Bong Revilla speaking at the Senate, I found him very comic. In relation to this kind of issue, I remember former Sen. Tito Sotto wanting "Alapaap" and other OPM rock songs by bands to be banned. And then figures like Katrina Halili went to the Senate to face them.

So what’s the common denominator…? These politician-senators know how to make noise by riding the coattails of famous personalities and wasting their time on them.

And these senators… did they actually do anything productive??? I know the issue of drugs and sex is something to talk about, but not the way it happened and is still happening. The laws on internet uploading or cyber privacy are what the Senate should actually be talking about. Why do they need Katrina and Hayden at the Senate…?!

A lot of things are happening… that we must talk about or be aware of…

The number of A(H1N1) virus victims in the Philippines is getting bigger, among other things… and oh, by the way, a Filipino director won Best Director at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival! The very first one, and hopefully not the last. Yet people are all glued to watching what happens next to Katrina and Hayden… they forgot that someone like the brilliant Brillante Mendoza is making waves in the film industry. Parang counterpart siya ni Charice Pempengco o ni Arnel Pineda sa field ng film… oh well, bad luck that his triumph coincided with the sex scandal issue. I remember what Paris Hilton said: “Sex always sells.”
