Eating spree

January 4 (Friday)
“Bogchi Hokbu”

My mouth has been busy chewing foods in various shapes, sizes, and tastes. We went to Hap Chang and Emerald Garden to get our orders. We will just eat in my grand papa’s house. If you don’t know what happened to him, he is diabetic and had been hospitalized last year so he can’t move without accompanying him. nakakaawa siya pero it’s his fault din because he keep on eating sweets and drinking. So ayun… it’s like a mini celebration of my birthday and my niece’s birthday.
When my grand papa saw us coming he is all smiles. Maybe because he knows that we have foods that he wanted and the same time we are complete. My father was also there were it’s very seldom of him to go to my mom’s place.

I love Hap Chang’s food as in!! I really love the broccoli with bawang. Grabeh!! We also have cold cuts, nido soup (birds nest), chicken, siomai, pata tim, and yung rice na hindi ordinary. May tawag dun eh… parang fried rice basta masarap siya…

Wow as in wow!! Sarap talaga… with all the foods I ate during holidays it seems that I’m still at my 80 pounds weight. Tsk tsk… need to eat more I guess.

Getting high with shabu…

December 29 (Saturday)

“Masdan mo aking mata di mo ba nakikita ako’y lumilipad at ngayon ay nasa alapaap na… Gusto mo bang sumama?”

I woke up earlier than the days before. My eyes opened at around 8:00. I don’t know why it is so early eh I closed my eyes around 1:00. Anyways, I’m still very depress of not having a guitar. I want a guitar now!! As in now!! Not tomorrow, not the day after tomorrow… I want now!!
Well my relatives in my mother side decided to go at SM Mall of Asia. Sinundo nila kami about 11:30. Lunch lang naman. So we ate at some fancy restaurant where they cater healthy shabu shabu. It’s not really my kind of food but why not try it. So the waiter put first some chicken stock at our individual pots. Then I ordered some kiwi shake. Then waited for some few minutes then the waiter handed us some fresh vegetables like cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, gabi, petchay and some sea foods like shrimps, crabs and clams. Then meron ding noodles, squid balls, corn, egg.. etc… So halatang may question mark on our faces we let us teach how to put that stuff in our boiling chicken stock. He told us to put first the foods that are harder to cook like corn, gabi, shrimp, crabs. Then halo-halo… then shabu shabu na!! di ko aakalain na I can eat that tapos wala pang rice or anything. Konti lang ang natira dun sa pot ko. Ayos!! Tapos my halo-halo kaso ang tabang. Tamang tama yun dun sa lolo kong diabetic. We stayed there for almost 2 hours. Soup lang yun ha. Nakaka high talaga ang shabu!!
Then lakad ng konti. Then went to Starbuks, bought some bread at French Baker… then I bought Urbandub Under Southern Lights!! Then uwi na. my two brothers decided to go with my lolo and lola’s house at Valenzuela.
Nung pag-uwi I listened agad sac d ng Urbandub. Meron palang duet yung dalawang crush ko na si Gabby at Kat Aggarado. Hahaha!! yung inside the mind of a killer. Astig talaga… so ngayon nakikinig pa rin sa c.d… so adios for now!!

Pampanga’s Best

It is my 2nd time to be at Pampanga. I guess. My first time to go there because of our NSTP and my 2nd time still for NSTP.

NSTP is a program for colleges and universities. Kapalit ata ito ng CAT. At first for me it was like shit!! NSTP… Pero then I realize that this shit NSTP is really helpful to me or to us. In 1st sem kami ay “naki muhay” with les fortunate on Pandacan and Pampanga. We also get the chance na magtanim. So for me “Magtanim ay di biro…” is true. Its really hard, imagine magtanim under the fu@#ing sun and yung feet mo nakalublub sa parang putik. At masakit sa likod!!

Now naman for the 2nd sem we got the chance to teach little kids. We first teach those children in Pandacan then in Pampanga. The kids are more attentive and active sa Pampanga. Pero pareho namang warm yung welcome sa amin.

I woke up at around 5:00 am because we should be at school at 6:30 am. My mother accompanied me (as always, pag maaga umaalis). We arrived at 6:00 so we ate first at Jolibee. Then when I arrived at our meeting place konti pa lang ang tao. So umalis na kami sa school mga 7:00 ata. We rode on an ordinary bus. As in walang aircon. Our school have busses na may aircon. But because we are on NSTP kailangan mag sacrifice. Pero ok lang because its kinda cold at thet time. I brought my jacket. So mga 3 hours yung trip. Sakit sap wet. Merong stop over. I bought shomai (another favorite of mine). So we arrived mga 10:00 na siguro. So we prayed first. Then story telling made by other group members. What did I do? Since story telling and those teaching is not my forte, I just assisted the kids. Like make them sit down, make them listen to the story teller, played games with them, kwentuhan. My classmates let them play bring me with us, so parang kami yung maghahanap then sila yung mag bibigay sa host. My partner (Russel) won when the host says “Bring me: Bracelet” of course I always have one. Then we ate lunch. Hindi ako naka kain agad because I have to feed this 2 year old kid na kasama sa tinuturuan namin. Then some weird things that I saw from them. like one of the kids talks to the tree, another is a kid na put down his shorts pumunta sa gilid na may kanal and said na “tetekla” siya. Meaning tatae siya. Haha. I learned few pampangueno words like “malago” maganda,”lukluk”upo and “tekla” tae thanks to Russele and his classmate
Then I bought this whole green mango (my favorite) for only 5 pesos. Sabi ko sa isang bata in Manila, in our school its 20++ Pesos. They were shocked. Like they said “Ang mahal naman”, the others said “malas niyo naman”.

Wait a minute… “malas niyo naman” sounds meaningful. I thought living here in manila will make you feel lucky. But yes, malas ko nga. We don’t have a province to go to when its summer though I’ve been through some provinces. I want to be in the province because of fresher air, simpler and maybe happier life…

Enough!! I’m here to tell my pampanga experience. Nung umaga when I woke up, I have this habit na sundin yung poster na may advices from papermeloti. Yung close your eyes no cheating then point. Ang napili ko ay “Celebrate Life” which actually appropriate sa gagawin ko. And yes, I think I celebrated life with these kids today. So ngayon, I felt happy.

So that’s it I think… nakakapagod ha… pero it was fun naman

Counting the hundred Islands

hehehe...
my goal with this trip is to count how many islands there are in hundred islands...
laki ng problema ko noh?We went to Hundred Islands to snorkel and to see the mangroves. I woke up 4:40 to eat break fast and be ready to go to my school. My mother accompanied me because it was too early for me to go to school alone. I’m just in time when I arrived, we just wait few minutes then we already leave. In the bus, I’m with my friends. We jut talk, listen to Ipod, took pictures and eat for more than 4 hours. We arrived in Pangasinan about 1:30 pm. Then we ate our late lunch. I think it’s my first time to eat a lot because of long hours spending inside the bus. We ate daing na bangus, lechoon kawali and vegetables. We went to our hotel to put our things and leave it there. Our room is just right for 4 of us. We change our clothes and wear our swimsuits. We rode in a boat to go to the islands. First we went to the Pinoy Big Brother Island to see the Pinoy Big Brother House. Umakyat kami somewhere 120 steps daw. At the top, we saw the 123 islands.hehehe hindi ko nabilang eg sinabi ng tourist guide. Sayang!! We took pictures. It is quite tiring to go up and down there. After that we went to the Quezon Islands to snorkel. It’s quite relaxing to see the fishes and corals down there. After that feeling so cold, because we’re all wet and it’s raining, we went to the bus and went somewhere where there is a mangrove. Naglakad kami for how many minutes. Its getting dark already. So ayun… nagtanim kami ng madilim… After that tiring activities, kain kami agad. Again I ate a lot for the 2nd time. Sa wakas tataba na ako!!We took a bath then straight to bed kami. because next day kailangan pa naming gumising ng 7:00 am… hayyyy….

NEXT DAY…

So we woke up about 6:45 am then ate breakfast. Again this is my 1st time to eat a lot of breakfast. I’m not use to eat a lot during morning. We need to listen to someone who talked about hundred islands. Then we went to souvenir shops to buy a souvenir. I bought a shell where there is the name of my brother. I’m so lucky. Even though I’m miles away from home I was able to watch Sponge cola in ASAP performing “Bitiw” in one of the stores there. Then we need to go back to the hotel and fix our things to be ready to go home. We ate our lunch. It is still raining very hard. Then we go straight to the bus. Another 4 hours there. My butt already hurts. We do the same things again, but in addition we played sunka inside the bus. Then I’m back in Manila, back to my home. I ate a lot again. I’m so happy I was able to catch Sponge cola again singing “Nakapagtataka” a revival of APO classic. When my parents heard it all I hear is bad comments about their version. The original is very relaxing, while Sponge Cola’s version is full angst. Siumisigaw lang daw. Oh men!! They are too old for this kind of music. For me, it’s their version of the song. They sang it the way they sang their own songs. Hay… I need to rest. I will not go to school tomorrow…
