Hey ms. Go getter
Are you a little bit under the weather?
Is it because you didn't get what you want?
Or is time of the month?

Why are you wearing a leather?
You better think twice
Your actions are not wise
Happiness in expense of others
Is not written in the scriptures
You Multi talented Sinner..

Hey ms go getter
Wake up and take a selfie
I hate you very
You think you have beauty
But no you're scary
You think I want to be Like you
But no, sorry it's not true
You are not very plastic
But yeah I'm sarcastic

Go ahead ms go getter
Get everything he offers
I hope you wouldn't have a daughter
Because if you do...

Screw you

Sitting like a king
Mesmerized by your acting
Asking questions
I answered before
I can't help but show my frustrations

How the hell you manage to be where you are
Because you are on top like a star
The universe is so unfair
Because you are just staring there
But money seems everywhere

Screw you and your friends
Enjoy the life like it will never end
Enjoy your little secrets
Hope you won't regret
You think people don't know it
But sure.. we do...
we all do..

I can't blame them
When you speak
Everyone will be bleak
We just scratch our heads
And then we hear cricket cricket in our heads

you are so Boastful, dummy
Your head
is so big as your tummy
No, no, I won't go
With you is like inferno
Have a nice day
I don't have anything to say

Short time

Hi, hello..
Talked to you just few times
I don't know if you even know me
You smiled waiting in the line
But in one moment
I need to say
Goodnight...
Goodbye...
Please rest in peace
That's my end of the year wish..

Ikot by The Oktaves Lyrics

Madaming nagtatanong sa kin ng lyrics ng Ikot by The Oktaves, na isa sa pinaka paborito kong kanata. So here it is..

"Di na pwede"
Yan ang sabi
Bakit ba di makahanap ng iba?

Oh nasabing
"Di nabale"
Di nabale ng di makahanap ng iba

Di na makatulog sa gabi
Sana wala kang katabi

Oh nag, nag, nag iisa
Nakakasawa na...
Paikot ikot lang...
Paikot ikot lang...

Walang masabi
Anong nangyari?
Bakit ka biglang nakahanap ng iba?

Anong nasabing
"Di nabale"?
Di nabaleng di mahanap ng iba
Wala na bang matatabi?
Mawawala ng sandali...

Oh nag, nag, nag iisa
Nakakasawa na...
Paikot ikot lang...
Paikot ikot lang...

Di na makatulog sa gabi
Ayaw ko na ng katabi

Oh nag, nag, nag iisa
Nakakasawa na...
Paikot ikot lang...
Paikot ikot lang...

Here is the video directed by Ely Buendia. I might write about the video when I feel like it since it is another story.

By the way it's kind of SPG. hehe

Battle of the band vocalists

It's the battle of the band vocalists this current season for The Voice of The Philippines. Two (so far) from my favorite OPM bands, Stonefree and Mojofly auditioned for the Voice. Fortunately, unlike Aia de Leon from Imago, they passed through the audition and they are part of Team Lea (Miro) and Team Bamboo (Lougee).

I like Miro's rendition of 'Ticket to Ride", but when he sang his own song, "Anghel sa Lupa" it just shows that he is better than singing an original song than doing covers.

Same with Lougee, Oh my Lougee, my ultimate girl crush...  If I am a coach, I think I will know that it's Lougee from Mojofly. I don't like the song choice, but her voice is really distinct.

I don't know if they will  go far in this competition since there are a lot of good singers in this show. I might write another post about that one...

Anyway, I am glad they have the 2nd chance to showcase their talent. I hope that even if they might not win this contest, it will open new doors for them. I also hope they continue to write songs, which they are good at.

Well right now, I am scared for the battle rounds.. for Miro specifically. He is under Team Lea and I know from previous seasons that when she pairs her team, she pairs them fairly. She doesn't care if she pairs her 4 chair turners, or 2 really great artists. She is really aiming for a good battle. Take Season 1 Team Lea Battles.

So far, I think Miro might be paired to Nino Alejadro (cousin of my another crush Ali Alejandro, boyfriend of Lougee). They are both band vocalists. But Nino can sing covers well... so... nganyon pa lang I am sad for Miro. Sa ngayon silang dalawa palang ang  rocker sa Team Lea..

For Team Bamboo, since I also know how he pairs..and if I will be the coach, I will do the same on how he pairs his team for the battles. great artists vs. not so great artists. What went wrong last season was, even though the pairing is like that, the "not so great artist" happened to excel for the battle rounds but he still picked his "great artist. I also think that in his mind he already has final 6. I think he might paired Lougee to Rammone Rodriguez. Both pretty faces and both with low voice  registers. If my calculations are right he might pass through Battle Rounds.

So good luck to Miro and Lougee. Bring back the glory of the band scene.

Before I end this, I will leave you with  some  great, great, great songs from Stonefree and Mojofly

Last words

I've been wondering all these years
What might your last words be
Is it filled with fears
And thousands of tears?

Can right words save your life
Or is it destined to cut it with knife?
Did you call his name
And act like it was just a game?

Did he talked to you
And tell the reasons for doing what he will do?
Or he just suprised you
Like he always do?

Were you waiting for a help?
Or you know that everything will end?
Did you call HIS name
And waiting for the angels and saints to do the same?

Neil Patrick Harris- One of A Kind Autobiography

Neil Patrick Harris is greater than Doogie Howser and Barney Stinson. You don't believe me? Check his very unique choose your own autobiography. It's true that  this is not full of words of wisdom, but well there are hidden lessons (and pages... Kungaloosh!) I believe... but he is so funny and witty as hell. I finished a NPH story for about 20 mins, since I picked correct story lines. But of course I wanted to know more about NPH.
NPH is former child star who fancies magic, who loves broadway and Cobie Smulders. Yes, he did mention that if women are not gross or sticky, Cobie Smulders is the girl he wants to marry. Awwww....

But well, spoiler alert NPH is gay and now newly married with David Burka and have 2 kids.

Check out the trailer below. This is the best celebrity autobiography so far.. hehehe

I like to marvel
But all I can do is use tumblr

I like to be a painter
I like to be a photographer

Lougee- The Voice of the Philippines Season 2

Tama ba yung nakita ko? Si Lougee ba yung nasa 1:39?
I'm so excited. I am a big fan since her Mojofly days...
Sana naman hindi siya maging Aia part 2.

In a myx interview :

LOUGEE Answers The Question: "Kung Kasali Ka Sa 'The Voice' At Lahat Ng Coaches Humarap, Sino Ang Pipiliin Mo?"

I hope makasali siiya sa season 2 :)

Morrissey is the original EMO

He is probably the pioneer of using emotional lyrics. If you want to be sadder during a sad day or if you want to know that there is someone is having a bad day than you, listen to The Smiths or Morrisey. I am sad to learn that he is battling cancer.
Morrissey's words regarding life and cancer:

“If I die, then I die. And if I don’t, then I don’t. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unhealthy, but that’s what illness can do. I’m not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I’m dead.”

He is the epitome of being emotional yet it really captures your inner feelings.

Arctic Monkeys

I think it's the first time I'll write about a foreign band. Anyways, I am also obsessing over other foreign indie bands too such as The Strokes, Vaccines, Muse and other bands. Here are some of their very unique renditions of  new and some classic songs. They are the perfect example of how artist should cover a song. When you will hear it, you know it's from other artist, but because of their unique take on the song you know that it's arctic monkeys.

I am not fan of RnB or hiphop, but I love their cover for Drake's song "Hold on we're going home"

"Baby I'm yours"

"Diamonds are Forever"

When I feel down I need some Up dharma down

"Di mo lang alam.. ako'y iyong nasaktan"

I found them again! at last... I terribly need their company after a very stressful week commuting... 3-4 hours from Makati to Pasay?? insane right...

Anyway, Up dharma down washed away my pain. They said their set is around 7 pm, but of course it started around 9 pm.. Filipino time at it's finest... We waited for 2 to 3 hours.. but it's ok.. it's up dharma down eh.. and for the 2nd time (haha) I have some company. I always watch gig alone because it's less stressful for me.

It's quite annoying, because my friend who is a fan of  up dharma down (daw) can't even name the vocalist. she said "nandyan na ba si Nikki?" "Sinong nikki?" I asked... "Yung vocalist ng up dharma down" Oh.. right bravo you are a big fan of the band... I do like tell trivia like, Ean Mayor is from Malibay Pasay or Armi us from UP... haha Or I saw them at MOA while buying a guitar from RJ. but of course I didn't...

Techy Romantics also performed... I really pity them... because they are really good, I love their songs... but of course I think among the audience I am one of the few who knew some songs... I really wish them well. I hope they will be famous outside the country... Here in the Philippines?? I doubt it.. They will, if they make it outside the country. That's the sad truth.. Oh and after they finished their set, I saw the vocalist get her bag on stage. Sorry vocalist, I like you but we laughed and said "Uy si Ate nagmamadaling umalis".

I also saw DJ Dylan or is it Karen of the late NU 107 with her husband and kid. I read her blog post. Check it out: http://reformedrockstar.wordpress.com/  I never thought she lived that kind of life. just check that site to find out her story.

The Ringmaster also performed. I never heard of them or him(?) They are only 2 on stage. A drummer and the vocalist. The vocalist used some techy stuff for the bass or electric parts.

Then Up dharma down. they performed I think 7 songs. They sang 1 song that I didn't recognize. Maybe it's from Bipolar album. There's a phase in my life when I didn't like their music (sorrry.. I hate that part of me. I am ashamed to admit it). But I am back...really back liking their Music. and I'm also liking Bipolar album. Check Unspoken definites!

I know, I am quite a hipster.. "Oo" shouldn't be my favorite song from them...But it is just so beautiful.. And they performed it!! and I melted...

They sang Tadhana, Indak, Luna, Night Drops and Turn it Well..

And oh by the way, i like to tell that Paul Yap seems a friendly dude. He is the only one, before the show walks around the venue, makes pa picture and drinks beer. hahaha!

Thank God for Up dharma down. Please don't make them disband. I need them in my worst days...

Wallpaper Selfie

I think I found my new pet peeve. Because I have my glasses now, I can see clearly and felt like I have a  super power. Whenever I'm out like when riding jeepney, Mrt or bus, I can see people's wallpaper. Most of them, their wallpaper is their picture or selfie. I vomit in my mouth every time I see one. I mean seriously.. aren't you tired of your face? I would understand if your picture is like this...
or this....
I wouldn't mind..

This is my current wallpaper. Am I the odd one here?

Essentials v 2.0

Essentials v 2.0

*Sony MDR-XB950AP/H Extra Bass- Thanks to Music Deserves Respect campaign, I realized I need to buy a descent
headphones since I am a huge fan of music. With this headphones I can hear every beat, every noise that musicians  want or
doesn't want us to hear.

*Ipod 4th gen- 8 gb worth of music is a must for a audiophile(??) like me.

*Cds- I also like real things... like cds.. I do like vinyls.. if  I have enough money. There is a different feeling every time I
open a cd. I do read the credits... well i enjoy reading them. Musicians spend lot of time
to create music and even the packaging.

*Vicks- I do like inhaling stuff... haha! even if I don't have colds a nice dab in my nose and I am happy.

*Glasses-With my new glasses I feel like I have a superpower. I can see everything.

*Books- What I'm buying when it's payday? yeah books and cds...

Out of Time

Someday I'll find you
Maybe across the street
Or under the blue reef
In a rock concert
Or somewhere in African desert

Are you in South?
Or busy kissing other girl's mouth
Do you really exist
Or just my futile wish

I'm running out of time
Run fast as you can
I'm losing all hope
That someone will like a dope
Maybe I'm not made to be loved by someone
I am born to wait for a lifetime...

If you happen to find me
Hope you find me sublime
Don't waste any time
Forget your past
Love me like I'm your last

There is a spot in hell for us

Acid intakes
A number of heartbreaks
Luscious wickedness
Creator of mendacity
Master of apathy
Leader of gluttony
Known for harassing the humanity
Let the fire burn you to death
I'm counting your last few breaths
Organizing your funeral
Makes you extra special
There is a spot in hell for us
Save me some space
I'll stare at your face...

Desolation

The darkness
Is all I can see
Amid the chaos
I can't see clearly
To you my life revolves
Circling like lightning bolt

the desolation of the humanity
is too much to carry
your time is so short
your life ended abruptly
gravity...
It's certainly working against me

I love you is all i can say
I know you can't stay
your life is well lived
but i will surely grieve
lost forever
in heaven we will be together

Singing, Waiting and Day Dreaming

I'm singing
Cause I'm waiting...
I'm day dreaming
Cause I'm searching for you...

I look at my watch
hey baby hush
My time is running out
I'm singing this out loud.

I send out my wish
to the universe please answer it...
Because I am looking for so long
this time I can't go wrong

EsquireEheads Singles

"Saan, saan napunta kislap ng iyong Mata? Maibabalik pa ba?"

The two new singles of Eraserheads are giving us so much "feels".

With the release of the songs, I can't help but disect (naks big word) or analyze it.

Sabado is written by the Eraserheads except Ely plus Erwin Romulo according to the album sleeve. At first I thought Ely wrote it since it's the usual tongue in cheek, straight to the point kind, a style that they were known for. The song opened with a familiar guitar intro of Pare Ko. The first line "Buti na Lang Sabado bukas" is like the natural way of talking with their friends. It's both current and nostalgic at the same the time. You can't help but think of your younger days. It can be included in the Cutterpillow album. The theme and sound is as the same league as the songs in that album. Ely's singing voice in this song is "Pupil"voice and not "Eraserheads" voice. You can't miss Marcus' guitar solos. This is an epic comeback song.I've listened to this for 100 times already. We just miss e-heads don't we?

1995 is written by Ely Buendia and Erwin Romulo. Unlike the first song, 1995 is deeper, darker song. It can be part of Stickerhappy or Carbon Stereoxide album. The first verse:
"Saan, saan na napunta Kislap ng iyong mata
Maibabalik pa ba?" is he talking about us? the audience who adored the band, that somehow left them or is he talking about fame?"Ngayon ang langit ay bughaw At sya’y sumasayaw Ako’y nasisilawSa labas sila’y naglalaroHindi makatayoSinong sasalo?" I'm quite lost but my interpretation for this line is way back in 1995, he is concerned about his kids. What if they are not that famous anymore? How will they survive life?
"Pwede bang sunugin ang tulay Ayokong sumabay
Sinong papatay Akoy’ naghihintay….. aaay Sa Nineteen Ninety-five Nineteen Ninety-five" This is the interesting part. I can't help but translate it to english. Pwede bang sunugin ang tulay- does he want to burn bridges?does he want to cut off ties with his past? Is this an ironic song? He is playing this song with his previous band but he really doesn't want to do this or to relieve the good ol' days? Uggh.. Maybe I'm just thinking a lot. The two songs in general are timeless, hit worthy songs.. Ely, Marcus, Raymund and Buddy are really bringing the best when they are together. Eraserheads is just magical whatever year it is.

Block and Write

My relationship with my blog is always on and off. Sometimes I can write everyday... Sometimes I can't even type a sentence. This year I didn't post much. Then I realize how much memories or events that happened in my life that I didn't put into writing. They say that an event didn't really happen if it is not written.

I am not a good writte or blogger. I mentioned it thousands of times before. But I do like to think a lot, I have also opinions that I don't have a courage to say during conversations. This an avenue for an awkward, shy, introverts like me, who use the power of technology to share sentiments that can't be done in the real world.

A blog is neither a diary nor a journal. Many people think of blogging in relation to those two things, confessional or practical. It is neither but includes elements of both.

Buti na lang sabado bukas

I'd like to post something about how happy I was when I learned that Eraserheads will release 2 new songs blah blah blah... but a lot of bloggers did that already or maybe I am not in the mood to write one.. but here is the official music video of their LSS worthy song Sabado! Spoiler Alert: Eraserheads will appear for 5 secs only but still... Enjoy!

Oh and by the way this blog is 8 years already! I remember calling this blog "The Carbon Stereoxide World of A Petite Girl" haha! lame! but what I am trying to say is way back in 2006 until today Eraserheads is still very much alive in me and also with other people.

Way back 2006, we have no idea that eraserheads will reunite for series of concerts and will release new songs!

Here is 1995 official video. Eraserheds appearance is longer than the first video.

That's life folks, expect the unexpected!

World without Strangers

I thought that I will be sad because I wasn’t able to catch Up dharma down, the reason why I went to Glorietta. But since they played early around 4 pm (WTH Guys?? They should be on the primetime slot!), I am praying to catch other cool bands like Franco, Urbandub, Taken By Cars, Techy Romantics and Rico Blanco.

And yep I did. I like Taken By Cars and Techy Romantics, but sadly they didn’t fit in a venue like Glorietta. Their music is disco, pop , electronic and dance-y kind of songs. Their songs wanna make you groove. But since it was in a mall, audience is sitting down, thus grooving is not a choice. I am sad for them because they deserve cool audiences.
But they were really great. Because seeing them live, I wanted to watch them in a venue where dancing is okay and other people will not judge you since they are also dancing.
Then Franco.  They were stupidly introduced as Spongecola. WTH?? They played about 3-4 songs. I only know songs from their first album. Pero Franco Reyes really rocked the house down! I was on the 3rd floor of the mall. I saw the people really moving. The kind of move I wished they did when Taken By Cars and Techy Romantics played. Charismatic Franco, captured my heart indeed.

After Franco who should play next? Of course the other rock superstar, Urbandub. I noticed that when Franco was done, a huge crowd went away. I am not really aware… is there animosity between franco and urbandub fans?? I know they did have some history. Pero I hope all is well.  So back to Urbandub, as usual Gaby Alipe was hot! That scar on his face… hahaha…

Then Spongecola. WTF happened to them? Even though I don’t like them anymore, I still list their first album “Palabas” one of the best. Yael did a lot of screaming and fist bumping the audience. Actually this is the first time I saw them perform.  They were my first love in OPM band scene. So I waited 9 years for this; Ear shattering noise from Yael, my former love. Hahaha. Anyare Yael??

Buti na lang at merong RICO BLANCO. What a blast! I love his performance. The robot, ati-atihan dance. I saw him last year with his acoustic set, it was great but I didn’t like it when he sang Bamboo associated songs like 214 and Himala. But when he is in his “Fiesto Bandido” vibe, he was great even if he sang Kisapmata, Elesi- other Bamboo associated songs.

With this performance, I therefore conclude that Rico Blanco is one of the best performers in local music scene. ASTIG!

Starting new life in the middle of the year

June 28, 2014

Everything seems falling into pieces. I’ve waited for 2 and half years and now I have what I wanted. Am I happy? Of course I am. I prayed for this. I worked hard for it. But looking back to those years when I am waiting for this to come, everything seems stopped… everything seems incomplete.

I know after this day, my life will change. I am not sure if I am ready. All I know is this will be a tough hella of a ride.

I learned that it is true; you should make mistakes or feel hardships. It is part of living this unfair world. Yep, it is also true… Life is unfair in every aspect.
July is a start of something new.

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end…

25 Things Every Woman Should Have By The Time She Turns 25

by: Brianna Wiest

My thoughts in Purple

I am turning 25 in 7 months. So I still have to time to do some things according to this article.

1. Enough confidence to no longer feel the need to justify what she eats, who she dates or what she wears, not only to other people, but to herself.
I think I already have this in my system. :)

2. The goal of a bank account with a few months’ living expenses in it, if she doesn’t have that already. Just in case.
Uh oh.. Actually, I am thinking and wanting to open a bank account. I have savings but not putting it in the right place.

3. Only the phone numbersFacebookfriends, weekend plans, and roommates she actually wants.
Check.

4. A best friend who is like a sister.
This is my ultimate hung up in life. I have friends, I did have best friend way back in grade school but not a person who can be my sister. I don't think I can have this in seven months... :(

5. A space of her own.

6. A good idea of what she needs in a romantic relationship, not just what she wants, or what she thinks she needs, and the willingness to explore different people and other ideas to find what exactly that is.

7. A closet of what she considers to be her “staples,” and among these things, something to wear to an interview, funeral, wedding, impromptu Friday night drink at a casual bar and dream date if ever someone were to call out of the blue.

8. The tact and grace to ask for a raise, a promotion, a change in a relationship or a date with someone she’s into.

9. The faith that she deserves those things.

10. A favorite coffee order, go-to restaurant for when friends visit from out of town, hairstyle that takes less than five minutes in the morning, “thank you” cards in her desk drawer, the print copy of her favorite book, and bedding that she is proud to show off.

11. A hobby that has nothing to do with drinking, shopping or somebody else.

12. The recipes for a number of easy meals memorized.

13. The desire and discipline to actually cook for herself. (Just herself.)

14. A trip she tells awesome stories about and a trip she has awesome plans for.

15. A sense that she’s let go of resenting other women for what they do or don’t have over her
.
16. Enough of a healthy relationship with her body that her contentment no longer hinges on comparison, or what her partner would think.

17. At least one date in her memory with the kind of partner who wouldn’t care about those things anyway.

18. Forgiveness if she’s dated men who haven’t quite matured as quickly as women tend to in their early 20s.

19. The knowledge of what she wants in bed and the confidence to ask for it without feeling uncomfortable.

20. A drill, a non-stick pan, a credit card line nobody else has access to, a bra that she was measured for at the store and working knowledge of how to change a tire, unclog a pipe, make an investment and find shoes on the extra 40% rack.
Check.

21. A relationship with her mother, even if it’s the decision that their relationship will be at least functioning, if not familial.
Slight check.

22. A passport, a sturdy piece of luggage, and the ability to pack the essentials at a moment’s notice should she be offered the chance to get away for a weekend, a week, or a whole new life.
Check.

23. The following emergency kit: Tylenol/Advil, eyedrops, a tampon, hand sanitizer, a fresh pair of underwear, a travel sized toothbrush, hydrocolloid bandages for blisters, $20 cash, a condom, and Plan B.

24. Forgiveness for who she was.
Getting there...

25. An idea of who she wants to be.
Damn....

Swimming in the sea of Books

"I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined"

My new year's resolution for 2014 is to read more books. I've read some awesome books last year. Can't wait to discover more stories. Here are some book review.

NON FICTION

1) Dispatches from the Edge A Memoir of War and Survival by Anderson Cooper
Favorite Line from the book: "Hope is not a Plan", "There is no dignity in drowning, no silent succumbing to the water's ebb and flow", "War is hell, butt hell it's also an opportunity".
-I know Anderson Cooper as a private cable news anchor. In his memoir, he reveals his tragic family story. His father died when he was 10. His brother jump from the family's penthouse in front of his mother.  A Yale graduate can't find an entry level job. He started his career as a war correspondent using a fake press pass. He went to different war and disasters. He seems strong but admits he cried at some moments while he is in field seeing dead bodies, explosions and disasters. He always tell the truth, even if it's ugly.

This is a book that made me see reality... the harsh reality. The war that happened that I didn't heard before. The sufferings, conditions, thoughts of other people is worth reading. Anderson Cooper may be born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but he is willing to use all his energy to be with other people, mostly in difficult situations, to comfort, help and share their stories to ordinary people like us.

RATING: 5 out of 5

2) Quiet The Power of Introverts in A World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain
Favorite Line from the book: “Spend your free time the way you like, not the way you think you're supposed to.” , “Don't think of introversion as something that needs to be cured.”

RATING: 4 out of 5

FICTION

1) Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

Favorite Line from the book: “Eleanor was right. She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”, “I just want to break that song into pieces and love them all to death.”
- A tragic ending. Park is my ideal guy. In this story "the more you hate the  more you love" is true.
This is a modern Romeo and Juliet.

RATING: 4 out 5

"A day that lives in infamy,
In horror we behold, his passing,
His memory, but the truth must be told"

I still remember the day when I got hooked in a radio program. Three weird guys spending almost a week or so naming their show. The show is named "The Brewrats". They got it from "Strangebrew" and RATS means Ramon, Angel and Tado Show.

The show ended maybe twice or trice but they always return. Then the radio station that their show is on closed around 2010 or 2011
. They reunite again last Sept 2013 for a radio guesting.
I never realized that it would be the last BREWRATS show ever...
