Sama sama at mag kaisa para sa kabutihan ni Ely Buendia

Lively is a benefit concert for the ultimate rock icon Ely Buendia. It happened last Sunday January 28 at Eastwood Quezon City. Rewind…Last December, issues or blind items were saying that si Ely ay nagwala sa isang bar dahil he was left by his band members and he was already “laos”. And now its January. He had a heart attack, he was on the news and he was supported by his band members, other eraserheads member and a lot of people. Is that Ely Buendia the “laos” one they talked about. If a normal band member will be on that situation (having a heart attack) it will not give the same impact as what ely did. He’s on the news. He is everywhere and I mean everywhere!!. His heart attack popularity gets the same attention as the Gretchen-Lani fight or the upcoming election.
Nakakatindig balahibo when the band members in the benefit concert for Ely mentioning about how Ely touched their life or their musicality. For example Yael, Sponge cola’s vocalist, says that when he is still in grade school during a trip he was listening to any eraserheads song, on that time its “alapaap”. He would change to different radio stations to look for that song. Another is Rico Blanco. He said that when he heard the line “Umaaraw Umuulan” (from “Walang Nagbago”) parang it inspires him to write a song that goes “umaaraw umuulan”. Another is Jay of Kamikazee, he said that malaki angutang ng mga banda kay Ely, dati ang mga banda nasa bahay lang… si ely ay nagging malaking impluwensya sa mga banda.
I think for me lang ha, the climax of the event was when Marcus Adoro sang his own version of “Huwag mo nang Itanong” and some of his compositions. Why? Because I have a little knowledge about this ex e-head member. All I know about him is that his hair is longer than mine. He was funny. His voice is funny too. At the end nakakakilig when he said “I love you Ely”
Ely is still ely. He is a legendary rock icon that will always be remembered. For me he os the greatest/best pinoy artist. He is the most influential peron in music, and if there will be a god of pinoy rock and roll (you know like greek mythology) it would be definitely be Ely B.
