Bittersweet

“Hanggang kailan maghihintay ako ay nabuburat na”

As I’m waiting for Sunday’s Sessions at 99.5 Hit Fm, I recognized the voice of the dj. No, it is not Neil. I know that voice I said to myself. Then he said he is Jimmy Jam and you’re listening to 99.5 Campus FM. So it means Hit is gone and Campus is back. I really like 97.1 Campus FM ways back. They are gone for almost one year. I think I moved on because I am listening to new radio stations and shows, like Sunday Sessions, Brewrats of Hit, and NU 107. So now, I don’t know if I will be happy but I’m really sad of what happened. Brewrats, in the other hand is still there but it is not like the show before because they are now “more music and less talk” which I don’t like if the djs are like Ramon Bautista, Tado and Angel who are amateurs as radio djs but they are really good in makes me in a good mood every night.

Why when I already moved on now that they are coming back? Grrhhh….

Indie King

“Playing the guitar is a lot of fun!”

Ramon Bautista viewed my profile!! I’m so babaw… hahaha… I’m quite embarrassed because in my profile there’s a lot about him. Like whom I wanted to meet. I wrote there Dan Michael so hindi masyado halata. Yun yung identity niya when he is spoofing David Blaine doing some magic tricks. Tapos favorite show, siyempre Ramon Bautista Show. For the record he is my faforite dj, vj, actor, singer, rock star, dancer, comedian, magician, director, commercial model, professor, host, radio commentator, radio actor… Ang dami niyang kayang gawin. Crush ko siya… hahaha… hindi siya gwapo pero sobra siyang nakakatawa and that’s one thing I like about a guy. Someone that can make me laugh.

I’ve known him since Dan Michael days. Parang if you are in a band hindi kompleto ang pagka musician mo if you don’t have a video with him…hahaha… tapos kasama pala siya sa Strange Brew. Like sa MTV yung show niya na every top of the hour pinalalabas. Yung radio show niya.

There is one time nay un yung lang ang ina-anticipate ko for the day. Bwiset!! Nung wala pa ang brewrats I was listening to King Dj Logan. He was mentioning about a new show the same timeslot with him. parang masaya siya kasi may show like sa kanila. Tapos tamang tama 1st day pa lang nila. Nakaka brewrats!!! Leche….

But as what Ramon always says, move on…

Close

“Kunin mo na ako… walang silbi dito… Bawiin mo ang lumbay muling bigyan ng saysay… Paalam… paalam… paalam… wala kang kasalanan… paalam”

Last day of regular classes as being a 2nd year student happened last Friday. We still have a class after holy week but it is exams week. Even though I have some issues with my block mates such as they are noisy and others that I don’t wanna reveal here. I’ll miss my block mates because at some point they make me laugh. Like they like asking stupid questions. The most stupid ones came from my stupidest classmate. My professor was telling about the colonization of Spanish or Japanese in Intramuros. Then she asked “until now?” Another one is my beautiful classmate but seems it is the only one she have. She can’t read, she asks questions already asked, and she is anorexic… Hahaha! But I stayed with them for almost 2 fruitful, meaningful, memorable years indeed! Now in my third year I have different set of block mates because we are arranged according to our majors. My major is Business Info. And luckily (?) I’m still with my friends. Actually, we really have the same majors since we entered and enrolled in our school. So there… I’ll miss them…

Then my grandfather is dying… I can’t say anything… I guess I talk about it later… the first line is exactly relevant for his situation…

Jeepney stories

“Bumaba ako sa jeepney kung saan tayo’y laging magkatabi”

For almost 2 years and counting I’m commuting since I entered college. Maybe for those years I already rode in about 500 more or less jeepneys and be able to be with 1000++ people I sat side by side with.

Jeeps are the cheapest form of transportation in the land with only P6.00 for students and senior citizen and P7.50 as minimum fare. And indeed, is the most annoying form of transportation (at least for me) because of many reasons. I stated already here about the top 10 reasons why I like and don’t like riding on jeeps. Now I want to describe my feelings, the people, commuters and the drivers.

COMMUTERS

I am one of them. But I don’t know if I’m “one” of them in terms of behavior or attitudes. There are different kinds of commuters.

First the I’ll-wait- for- you- to –come- coz’- I’m -lazy kind of commuter. These are kinds of commuters who are lazy to give their fare to the driver since he/she is too far from him and he/she is the only one inside it. I’m like this when I’m wearing my skirt because it is hard for me to move.

Second, the I-will-just-look-you-are-passing-it-coz’ I’m lazy-or-autistic kind of commuter. I’m irritated by these kinds of people. They are the one who is so serious about life and I think they are autistic or have their “own worlds”.

Third, can-I-get-your-jeepney-fair-coz’-I-know-you-are-lazy kind of commuter. It is the person who does nothing with his or her life so he/she will be so kind and willingly to give it to the driver. In some cases, these kinds of people are just too kind and understanding. It happened to me one time; I think it is a staff or teacher of my school.

Fourth, I’m-head-banging-right-know kind of commuter. These are people who are listens to his/her mp3 or IPod and even if you scream at him/her, he/she can’t hear you. These kinds of commuter are funny to watch.

Fifth, the PDA commuters. There’s really nothing wrong in showing your affection to your “significant other” if it is just light. For me the “light” form of PDA is holding hands and kissing the cheeks. And the hardcore ones are the lips to lips, smooching, “harutan”, “lampungan” and you can already add some more. It is not right because according to the “jeepney etiquette”, though shall not irritate your seatmate. You should also be considerate with other’s feelings. You may let someone be jealous by your actions because he/she might remember the times when his/her exes romantic moments. And with that actions, for me it proves some things, like if you can do that in front of many people, what else you could do when you are two are alone?

Sixth, I-am-religious-or-rich--can’t-you-see commuter. These are types of commuters who are ostentatious and flamboyant. I think it is a normal kind of commuter. They are the ones who show his/her “expensive” belongings. It also goes for people who will show rosary, prayer books or what not. I know that sometime it is needed and those people are not included. What I mean with these kinds of commuters is you can “feel” it that he/she is showing you.

Seventh, I’ll-pay-you-coz’-I-know-you and you-pay-me-coz’-you-know-me commuter. Theses commuters are also funny because they are like racing to make you “libre” but I know in the back of his’her mind “ikaw dapat ang manlibre”.

DRIVERS

First is maigsi-ang-kamay-ko-di-ko-maabot drivers. I am irritated and annoyed by these drivers. They are not giving too much effort to reach for your jeepney fare.

Second, I-don’t-wanna-stop-the jeepney drivers. These are kinds of drivers who are deaf. That even you are already shouting he is not stopping it. Sometimes, they don’t stop it but he is just slowing down. One time minura ng mother ko yung driver because he is not stopping the jeep he is only slowing down.

Third, ay-di-ko-alam jeepney drivers. i hate it when they I already said that I’m a student but the change he will give is for the normal fare.

Fourth, is jeepney drivers with mannerisms. I’ve seen a lot of them. There is one driver who burps for almost 30 minutes. Then there is this driver na parang nahipan ng hangin because he kept on moving his shoulder. It is scary because he is driving and doing that mannerism baka mabangga siya.

Fifth, kilala-ko-nanay-mo-libre-kita-pamasahe drivers. I love these kinds of drivers!! I hope all of the drivers are like that.

So here are the types of commuters and drivers I’ve encounter. Some give made me laugh, irritated, annoyed, smile, sleepy, angry, hungry while I’m inside the jeep. But after everything was said and done, I can’t still live without jeepneys.

Hullabaloo

March 1 (Saturday)

“Rain rain go away isama mo na si Gma”- from the students who were rallying last Friday.

That is a statement that made me laugh. Actually a lot of things made me laugh these past few days about the news I saw and heard. First is the report of Mark Logan about what to do if you are sleepy in a Jun Lozada senate inquiry. I was laughing hysterically for the whole 5 minutes more or less report. I will try to look for it in You tube for those who weren’t able to catch that.

The pictures I saw at Sunday Inquirer were it shows the creativity amidst of the anger we have like making poster were it was edited and the protagonist in the whole ZTE NBN issue, was of course the main future. A picture of Jun Lozada in a Wolverine character. Then there was this “Mystery man” poster were it futures the “antagonists” like FG Mike Arroyo and Benjamin Abalos. Actually, you may even see it in your e-mail accounts.

And then that line from the students who attended the rally. I’m not sure what school it is but that is a true statement that youth of today is smart. Smart, for creating that funny but meaningful line. A true statement that we are “pag-asa ng bayan.”

In spite of the laughter, at the back of my mind there are a lot of uncertainties. Like what will happen in our country where we are divided in to two groups to oust and not to oust our president. But nonetheless majority is on looking for the truth but of course nothing but the truth.

I didn’t attend the rally for several reasons. But the most accepted one (I think) is that my own life is not in the perfect shape right now so why rally? I mean, my studies are not that good. I am in my “dropping dilemma” again. And now it is Philippine Go. Co. Yes it is good because it is fighting for the truth and everything, but I can do it in my own little ways.
