False Alarm
Aug.17 (Monday)
Hindi ko na alam ang nangyari. Tumingin ka ng malayo. Wag kang lumingon. Pumikit sumikip, mata’y bumaon. Ewan ko ba? Ayoko muna.

Mariah Monkey
“ABS-CBN o GMA7, ABS-CBN o GMA7… Original o Pirated”
The opening line is “Bombardment” by Dong Abay.
I heard in the news about the gaya-gaya issue of Freddie Aguilar towards Charice Pempenco, Arnel Pineda and Gary V. He said something like why Charice and Arnel didn’t sing some Filipino songs when they are invited in some shows or have gigs on a foreign land.
A while ago when I was playing with the remote control I saw Sandara Park. She is now at her own land, Korea and she has a girl group called 21. I saw their music video at Myx. Anyways, the chismis show has this video showing her singing her hit song “In or Out”. It is a Tagalog song and she is singing it at her own land Korea and if I’m not mistaken she is pure Korean. I guess Ka Freddie saw that video.
What a shame.
A pure Korean is there at her own land singing a Tagalog song. Of course Koreans doesn’t understand what she is singing.
Sure, Charice and Arnel are making us proud because they are all over the world bringing us pride and joy. These two got the fame because of covering some foreign songs. I think Freddie Aguilar is quite right. If Sandara, a pure Korean who lived here for quite number of years and sings Tagalog song in front of thousands of her own kind why not Charice and Arnel. They are 100% Filipino. No foreign blood attached
What a shame.
When I saw that video of Sandara I realized that behind this “krung-krung” girl is more than a Filipino to some of us. She still knows to look back to the country who once loved her.
Then when I’m watching Channel V I saw these local bands playing at various places like Malaysia, Singapore etc… Well I am not sure if they are singing Tagalog songs but I am sure that they play their own compositions. That’s enough for me. That’s why I am for bands than singers, balladeers and pop stars.
So what I’m trying to say?
I don’t know. I’m still wasak today.

It’s a protocol; YOU NEED TO DIE TO BE A HERO, TO BE NOTICED
“and I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life...”
In what I am seeing right now… I want to die… to be noticed…
When Francis M. is still around my brothers don’t know how to sing “Kaleidoscope World”. They wouldn’t even bother to play it on my laptop. But when he died, my ears are bleeding because they are singing it to death. They even let me download some of his songs. The same goes with Michael Jackson. When he is still alive we put more importance on his weirdness than his musicality.
It’s true that we just acknowledge a person when he or she is not around. We just take them for granted.
In Cory’s situation she is just acknowledge as a hero when she died. I mean do you really need to die to be a hero? She fought for democracy decades ago and just now when she died they come to realize that she could be another national hero. Yeah, maybe it’s better late than never. But if you could think about it, we really don’t know if she could really see us, if she knows what is happening right now.

Gives you hell
I’ve got so many things to tell. I don’t know if I can say all those things.
First I still don’t have a cellphone. My father is too thrifty. I am thrifty but he is just too thrifty and it is annoying. I got depressed sometimes not because I don’t have the cellphone or maybe it’s a part of it but the issue is they don’t give me something I like. I mean I may not be the best daughter but I behaved or I pretend to behave the way they like. I don’t go anywhere past 9 pm, I have good grades… so I guess I need some reward.
I don’t have an internet. I go to computer shops every time I needed to. And if you don’t know my course is Bus. I.T. so I really need internet services. I don’t ask them to give money to buy clothes, CDs or books. I’m using all my savings. As of now I have 20 bucks. I just bought Bob Ong’s Kapitan Sino. I really like to have Paolo Coelho’s Veronica Decides to Die. When we are at National I said that I like that book to my mom. She said she will buy me when it’s “salary time”. Well it’s almost august and she told me that last July. Damn it. I cried every time the cellphone issue comes into my mind.
I am about to graduate this March. And I’m already planning my future. I said to myself that I will apply to call center because the salary is quite high. If I will get about maybe 10-20 thousand in my first job, I will give 5 thousand bucks to my parents then the rest is for my luho and maybe save a little. At my first salary I will buy the latest cellphone. I know that I said before that I can live without that, I still can but it’s different. I want something I never had. I will also save some money for my “laptop fund”. I hate my laptop now. REALLY!! DAMN IT!! I also planned to go to abroad, maybe anywhere in Asia or Europe. I also said before that I will not go work abroad but things changed and I am changing too. I want to go to abroad primarily not because of earning dollars but because I want to be independent. I said before that I am not ready to go anywhere because I will be away with my family and I will be away with my favorite bands. But I said that couple of years ago, and at that time I am still young still thinking of stupid things. Now I am 19. I am way matured than before.
A lot of notable people died this year. And we are just half way through it. Francis M., Michael Jackson and now Cory Aquino. I just come to realize that a lot of things may happen that we never expect that it would happen. And now we are losing and losing iconic people who let us rediscover the words Pinoy Pride , Democracy and other words that we will not learn without them.

Wasak ang Cossack!!
July 15 (Wednesday)
“Wala naman kaming napala Wala, Wala, Wala!”
Wednesdays is our “Thesis day” because we don’t have class during that day. So we went to Lisa’s place to do our thesis. But as my opening line says… Wala kamin napala, wala, wala, wala, wala. The taste of Cossack reminds me of my medicine for my cough. Mainit sa lalamunan… mainit sa katawan…hahaha…
We bought the drinks at SM supermarket. Yung sa mga liquor area. Ako, si Cindz, Lisa at Marj we went there to buy drinks.
So what a wasak day.
To know wat really happened to us search for the “Alkohol” lyrics by Eraserheads. That’s exactly what happened. hahaha

Rip it
Rip it off!
I want to see your burly body
Isn’t it a little bit heavy?
Come on see me at the lobby
Baby are you ready?
I always dream of your kissable lips
Oh I just can’t resist
You are always part of my list
Oh babe I can be your sexy beast
Your visage is a work of art
I can’t blame myself if you will be in my heart
You are such a talented human being
You are one of the reasons why my life is worth living
Rip it off!
I want to be your baby
Isn’t it obvious honey?
Come on see me at my room
I baked you some macaroon

Demented
I am not free as a bee
But I wander like a python
I am not as pretty as I can be
All I have is a stupid fashion

Si Ely mismo…

“Turn off the lights now!!”
Ely is in the commercial once again!! He is the new endorser of Coke Zero alongside Billy Crawford and Gabby dela Merced. Ely is the star endorser I must say. Hehehe… He is the person I know that keeps on looking better when getting older. I said before that Ely looks like Smokey Manoloto when he is only starting with Eraserheads. Anyways, at ASAP Pupil was there to perform. Before that Rafael Rossel and Angelica Panganiban was mentioned by the host. Then they also said the name of Yan Yuzon. Then I saw some dancers then I thought Yan will dance. Oh well, he played guitar which what he does best. He is great. Then Pupil played “Disconnection Notice” with Gary V. it was nice. I think it’s the first time Ely and Pupil performing in ASAP for how many years. He was interviewed by Iya and asked something and he said something like he starts with nothing….etc… Then in his commercial he was telling it is good to start with zero. He really looks good there. Pero at the billboard parang may photoshop effect. Well anyways astig…
As I about to finish this post I saw another commercial of Ely. This time he is not alone. He is with Raimund Marasiga, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro. Yeah boy!! It is an eraserheads commercial for Sandbox. I am now starting tolove commercials since puro si Ely ang nakikita ko. Hehehe…. Ely has 3 commercials right now, the Ako mismo commercial, the Coke Zero and the Sandbox commercial. Astig talaga… yung commercial is really good they are just performing “alapaap” pero astig talaga… tapos parang they are just laughing and hanging out…

Bullshit… Isa pa ang daming dumudura… WTF talaga…
Happy Independence Day!!! Ikaw, ako, tayo, Pilipinong matatapang at matatalino!! Huwag hayaang maloko ng kung sino sino……

Books of Summer
“hey moon please forget to fall down… hey moon don’t you go down”
My vacation is almost over. It’s been a good vacation for me. First we went to Hong Kong. We are lucky that A(H1N1) is not yet known at that time. But you know what when I was at the airport and we were searching for the bag counter a stewardess was running towards me. Then she can’t speak in English but she was pointing at my ears. I thought my cross earrings are not allowed at Hong Kong. Then she had this thermometer and put it on my ears. My family is laughing very hard because I look like sabog or I am sick daw. I remember tuloy my prof wo told me that I look like Ebola virus…Hahaha… good times…
Then I had this training for almost a month. They promised to give us P60 per day as an allowance but still we don’t have it. I hope they willit. It’s almost June. WTF!!!
Then I finished reading books that I’m dying to read. It’s a nice combination. I read The Secret ,The Alchemist, and I’m still reading Catcher in the rye. Hehehe… the latter one was written decades ago but I think the situation of Holden is really modern. I think it’ really a good book. But I’m not yet done reading it. FYI my cousin’s name is Holden. So now I know where my Tito got it. It’s a nice book to read to start a new school year. It’s about a boy who failed in almost his entire subjects. Anyways I’m not yet done reading New Moon because I lost my interest. Well I’m about to finish reading it pero tinamad na ko. The movie helped me to not finish it. I am not a fun of Twilight. I’m reading just for the hell of it. I’m still looking forward to read Paolo Coehlo’s books. I think I might read those books since I really have a lazy schedule.
Speaking of my schedule I called it lazy because in 5 school days I will go to school for 3 times only. Tapos puro half day. puro pang gabi din. Sabi ko nga kay Lis kung may swine man sa school naming di kami mahahawaan kasi lagging half day at pang gabi kami. Ahahahah….
Oh I want to start my 4th year in college… I’m dying to graduate…

Closet Poet
Unaldurated words of my heartJust coming out when I’m about to start
To form a song, to write a poem
When I’m at my closet
I become an instant poet
All I know, I rule in my world
I don’t know how to put words correctly
I don’t know the meaning of words I used, honestly
If I don’t make a sense, Oh sorry!
In my universe my intelligence burst
But when I’m back in reality
I’m still the worst

An open letter to God
Dear God,
Pls. don’t let it happen. We are all in need for change, and to be able to achieve is to change ourselves and change the leader. Well, or so I believe. Pls. let the people in power not to let Cha-cha or Con Ass happen. I may know a little about those things but whenever I hear this it means only one thing… no election will happen on May 2010. it will be my first time to vote pa naman. It will be the time where I will elect a candidate that I think will be right to be in the highest position. And I think that experience will show me that I can have a power even in just little time. Please God, our leader needs to leave her place. She already got lots of money from us. For me, every second that she stays on her throne a peso from our fund is slipping away. Don’t let that happen again.
I am not against changing the constitution. But there is a right time to do it. And I think the right time is after we elect a new leader. Am I right God? Please also help us to elect a right person. We are deeply in need of a great leader who will not be blinded by the power money. Let also the youth like me to help make a difference. We are indeed the hope of the future.Your child,
F

The real bitch
Wandering upon endlessness
What strikes me the most is this woman
With searing crown that no one can hold
I for instance can’t take it
To see her with a jaunty smile
Because I know that she is staggering phony
The real bitch I told myself
No questions asked
Is living her ambitious dreams
But I told myself
Its better to be me…
An unknown
Very simple
Happy girl
Than to be her
She may have all the richness in the world
But I know time will come
That The Universe will blow it away from her
Because someone really deserves what she has…
And that is Us…
Us who is better than…
A lot better than
The REAL BITCH…
What strikes me the most is this woman
With searing crown that no one can hold
I for instance can’t take it
To see her with a jaunty smile

Brilliant!
“I take my clothes off it will be shameless cause everyone knows this is how to be famous…”
The issue of the sex scandal is not yet over… it is still a hot topic…
Anyways, what I want to say with this entire hullabaloo is the senate participation. I know this is a huge issue. When I saw Sen.Bong Revilla talking at the senate I found him very comic. In this issue I remember former Sen. Tito Sotto wanting “Alapaap” and other OPM rock songs by bands to be banned. Eraserheads like Katrina Halili went on the senate to face them.
So what’s the common denominator…? These senators turn politician knows how to make noise by riding to a famous artist and waste their time on them.
And these senators… do they did something??? I know the issue of drugs and sex is something to talk about but not the way it happened and still happening.
The laws on internet uploading or whatever is the one that the senate must talk about. Why do they need Katrina and Hayden on the senate…
A lot of things are happening… and must talk about or be aware of…
The number A(H1NI) virus victims in the Philippines are getting bigger and other things… and oh by the way a Filipino director won Best director at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival…. The very first one and hopefully not the last. People are all glued on watching what happen next to Katrina and Hayden… they forgot that someone like the brilliant Brillante Mendoza is making waves in the film industry. Parang counterpart siya ni Cherice Pempenco or Arnel Pineda sa field ng film… oh well malas niya kasabay niya ang issue ng sex scandal… I remember what Paris Hilton said “Sex always sells”…

Wanted Bedspacer

Album Title: Wanted Bedspacer
Album Artist: Ely Buendia
Number of Tracks: 11
Released Date: 2000
Review:This album is almost 9 years old. But it’s my first time to hear these songs. The first track and my favorite song from the album is “Wanted Bedspacer”. It is a mellow song. I really like the idea of Wanted Bedspacer. If you think about it parang may pagka double meaning, it’s like Mariposa of Sugarfree. Napansin ko na yung style ni Ely. Lagging may pauulit ulit na line. In this track “Wanted Bedspacer” line ay paulit ulit for about 2-3 minutes. Pero ayos pa rin. “Kakaiba” is really kakaiba. Very upbeat may “disco” feeling. I was surprised that Ely come up with this kind of song. Parang may katunog nga siya eh. Yung kanta ni Janno Gibbs. Yung latest niya. Basta something to do with dancing. I didn’t like it much kasi may pagka novelty. Then “Santo” I would say it can be mistakenly be from Eraserheads. Pwede siya sa “Natin 99” album. I like the line “Kailangan ko siya walang magagawa kung kasalanan ito ayaw ko ng maging santo”. “Tapos na” may pagka heavy yung sound. Yung tunog pwedeng Pupil pero not the lyrics. Masyado kasing given yung lyrics. “Shallow Breathing” naman pwedeng Mongols.
Overall this album will show what an Ely Buendia can do, and it means he can do almost everything. There is rap (“Acid Tongue”), novelty pop (“Suntok sa Buwan”), mellow (“Wanted Bedspacer”), upbeat disco (“Kakaiba”) and rock(“Shallow Breathing”). Parang it’s a fusion of the sound of his current and former bands. This is an album where you could really hear the sound of an Ely Buendia. Parang you will get up close and personal with him with his very catchy yet easily understandable songs.
Best among the rest:
I will say Wanted Bedspacer. It’s my LSS for this month. “Santo” and “Monday Mundane” is good din.
Rating
3 out of five rockstars!!!

Naliligaw...

At kakaibang sasakyan
Samantalang ang hinihiling lang ng isang musmos
Ay edukasyong maayos
Magandang bahay
Matiwasay na buhay
Ako ay naliligaw!
Tinatangay ng kasinungalingan
Binuhusan ng kahirapan
Pinapakain ng pagdurusa
Bakit kailngan ganito
Bakit maraming taong gago?
40 milyong naghihirap
Hinahanap ang munting pangarap
Ngunit tayo ay nililigaw lang
Papakainin ng kapirasong ginto
Pag sila ay nanalo
lahat ay kanilang kukupkupin
Wala ng ititira sa’yo
Dahil tapos na ang matagal na pagkukunyari
Matagal ng pinaplano
Ang lahat ng nangyayari sa mundo
Sila ay ating manliligaw
Nililigaw tayo ng landas!
Ako ay naliligaw!
Kailang mahanap ang tamang daan
Magtulungan tayo upang hindi maligaw
Huwag magpapaloko
Huwag maniniwala ng todo
Sila ay magpapabango lamang
Upang ang masangsang na amoy ay matakpan
Ako ay Pilipino!
Ang bawat hakbang na tatahakin
Ay sisiguraduhing tama
Hindi ko hahayaan
Na maligaw ulit tayo ng landas…
Ako, ikaw, tayo
Pilipino at matatalino!

Working-class Heroes
Filipinos did it again… and again…
I am not really watching Randy Jackson’s America’s Next Best Dance Crew because I’m not into dancing. But I was able to watch the final episode. Jabbowackeez, one of the finalists is composes of 3 Filipinos out of 6members.
In the picture you could see they are wearing mask ala Phantom of Opera while dancing. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why they won. But nonetheless they are really good. America’s Next Best Dance Crew is like American Idol because there are three judges that will criticize you but the people will still decide on who they think is the best. Filipinos are really creative and talented no one could contest in to that.
The Pacquiao-Hatton match is implausible. Who would think that the match will end at round 2? Much has been said about how great Hatton is. My dad said that they just fooled us. He said Hatton is not really great fighter he and his company just want to make money. It could be true because win or loose you will get a hefty million dollars.
Pacquiao won and I think he has no choice but to win. He is a working class hero indeed. I am really stunned to see famous Hollywood actors supporting him. I think he said that he will retire soon. Honestly, I think his health really needs that. But we all know that he can’t retire. I heard someone said that the only reason why he is proud to be a Filipino is because of Pacquaio. I can’t blame him. I think we are in need of another Pacquiao because he is not getting younger. We are in search for another hero. Being named as the greatest boxer of all time by a sport extraordinaire…. It is really something else…. He is a Filipino… and everyone knows he is… and I’m proud to be one.
I know that last Sunday all of us are watched the match in different ways. Like there is a live feed at Solar Sports but only the rich people could afford that. Some watch it live; some watch it at restos and gyms while a large amount just stayed at home. While watching the match we are bombarded with commercials. One commercial that got my attention is this “Ako Mismo” campaign. Different people with different careers invite us to their campaign. They have Ely Buendia, Ramon Bautista, Maxine Magalona, Charice Pempenco, Arnel Pineda and a lot more. The advocacy of the ad is to push people to do little things that can end poverty.
