Music Buddy

“Radio U.F.O. Radio U.F.O Radio U.F.O”

I love my youngest brother because he is the one who accompanies me in listening music. he will turn 6 this June. But at the tender age of 3 or 4 he already sings “Pare ko”. Why? Just because of the “Tang ina” part. It is so funny to hear and see him singing that song because every time when the tang ina part comes he will whisper it to my ear because he is afraid that my parents will ear him. He listens to music very much. he likes Urbandub’s “Evidence” these days. Nakakatawa kasi mali mali yung lyrics niya sa kanya “he will give me bananas” ang tama eh “caught you in the arms of another. Hahaha… ang layo di ba? Actually he also listens to the songs I am listening. Nakakainggit because when I was in his age I listen to my “yaya’s music”. Like Bon Jovi, April Boy, Jessa Zaragosa and others. Then here comes my oldest brother, when we are child we listen to boybands like Backstreet boys, Boyzone, N Sync and other boybands na hit nung 90’s.

You wouldn’t believe that I just learned Bamboo is the former vocalist of Rivermaya when I am 14. I just learned to listen to Eraserheads at 15. I just learned what type of music I really like when I reached 14. So many years I wasted to not discover and listen to “good music”. Now I am currently downloading songs from The Beatles and Jeff Buckley. I also bought a Nirvana c.d. at Music One at Glorietta. Meron silang area na puro pre-owned albums. So I just bought it for 150 bucks. May kasabihan nga na “it’s better late than sorry”.

So ayun. You know I always like to have a sister because it is just different. Pero since my youngest brother understands what I like and even jams with me I’m contented because we can sing “Evidence” and “Pare ko” until the sun is up.

Sawa Factor

“at bakit ba pag sawa na ako biglang ayoko na?”

I am loyal to a artist or musician if he/she or they will bring me what I wanted or even bring more than what I want or expected to them. so if I get tired to the musicians they either nagging “too masa”, or nakakasawa lang talaga sila.
1) Calla Lilly- I must admit I really like them at first. I like their songs yung “Stars” and “Hold my Hand” but after that (ano ba yung sumunod na single nila?) hindi ko na sila type. I even saw them performing nung they are just starting out. They are really different from now. It is just me parang yumabang… I can’t say sila maybe siya. I am talking about Kian. If you saw his interviews parang he was trying to funny na nagiging mayabang ang kalalabasan. Marami namang ganun like Jay, Yan and others pero iba and dating ni Kian.
2) 6cyclemind- again I like them hanggang yung single nila ay “upside down”. For me again, parang they became sell out band kasi they have really different sound in their album “Fiesta”. Yung songs nila katulad ng “Magsasaya” and “Aaminin”, it is just too corny and to “masa”. They are realy different from the “Biglaan” and “Wait or go” days.
3) M.Y.M.P.- I’m just too tired of Juris’ voice.
4) Hale-mentioned it already

Abracadabra!

“Puff the magic dragon…”

I really have a dying admiration with magic and even magician. When I was young I though magic is simply magic, meaning no tricks are used. I love David Blaine to Dan Michael. If I have a chance I wanted to be a magician.

I watched Berwin Meiley’s magic special. I was impressed by his magic powers. Although I already saw them performed by David Blaine. Then I saw him at Showbiz Central and parang may issue about his magic like it is not true. Of course it is not true kasi may tricks yun like any other magic. If you watched that you would agree that the people that Berwin shows his magic powers was really amazed. And these people weren’t Filipinos. Parang hindi naman scripted. Berwin went to other countries pa just to show his magic capabilities. That’s another thing that I’m disappointed with. Pinoys are always like that. tapos isa pa I noticed that masyadong “David Blaine” yung feel nung show. Tapos si Richard Gutierrez yung nag iinterview. Yung kay David Blaine si Leonardo de Carpio, yung kay Dan Michael si Jao Mapa. Hehehe…

But I am impressed in Berwin’s speaking capabilities.

Nonetheless, Good job!!

Musicians hits commercials

“kailan ba ako magkakapera? Kailan ba ako makikilala”

At first I wrote rockstars hits commercials to be the title of this post. But I realized not all that I will mention is a rock star for me at least. Some people thinks that when you say “rockstar” different name of band members ang sasabihin nila. Like for example I saw this site at pinoyexchange “rockstars and their lovers” tapos puro si miggy at mong ng chicosci, ney ng 6cyclemind, may Christian bautista pa nga. They don’t know what rock star means for me isa lang ang rockstar si Ely Buendia. No need to elaborate why.

Speaking of Ely Buedia he has a new commercial for an oat meal ata. Imagine I glued in the t.v. and switching channels from 2 to 7 just to see it completely. Then when I was waiting for Ely’s commercial I noticed and observed that that commercial models are the almost the same for different kind of products. Puro KC Conception, Judy Anne Santos, Angel Locsin. Nakakasawa na. buti na lang I saw this Coke commercial featuring Project 1’s “Ang Sarap Dito”. Tapos yung Smart Bro Commercial including Sandwich. Then eto na si Ely. Solo flight. Astig!! First time ata na may nag solo na musician. Then I detect that like Raimund he has commercials but including his band. Then here is Ely having a solo commercial. If you remember he has also this commercial for Red Horse Beer. Solo ulit siya, meaning without his band. So if you think about it is clear that advertisers get him for having a “rockstar” image. Tapos Raimund gets him for his music. hindi ko naman sila kino compare. I mean Pupil is a great band with great songs sana kunin din sila because of their music. pero nonetheless, I’m just happy to see them in commercials because they are like “fresh faces” or for a change para hindi puro artista na nakakasawa na sobra. Sana magising ako ng isanag araw na si Gabby Alipe at Urbandub may tooth paste commercial si Kat Agarrado Shampoo and conditioner, Sponge Cola dish washing liquid, Pupil for a pencil commercial, taken by car for gasoline, sugar free for a sugar free chocolate and so on… hahaha…

Where the Hale?

“Dahil kailngan ka at kailangan pakita natin tayo ay iba at kahit pa di magil sa mundo”

In 2005 the song “The Day You Said Goodnight” became a massive hit. Anyone can sing it from toddlers to teens even to my 50+ father. Everyone has their self titled album pirated or original. Even my brother got one but sadly a pirated copy. He thinks that my kind of music is kinda “baduy” because I buy original cds of Eraserheads, Urbandub, Up dharma down and others. I didn’t buy an album, but honestly I have thoughts of buying one but a lot of good albums came across my mind and thinks that it is better to use my 250 ++ bucks for the artist I mentioned above. So isno ang baduy?

At that year they dominated year end countdowns, won several awards plus double platinum award (?) for their album and not to mention the “di mahulugang karayom” gigs. But it seems, for me, their 30 minutes of fame is up. When they came up with a 2nd album “Twilight” the songs from that album didn’t catch the listeners that much unlike their debut album. It seems sophomore jinx hits them. I considered them 1 or 2 hits wonder. It is just me. Well, I have some of their songs but only downloaded. I once get hooked to their vocalist Champ like a million girls, maybe because of peer pressure… hehehe… but not that long. I began to notice that there are a lot of bands better, has a more powerful voice and even more good-looking than their vocalist. Their popularity seems to deteriorate maybe because I heard they are focusing in other stuffs like studying. That is a good thing to know that they are still prioritizing their education even though they have a career now. I also heard they have a new album. I hope they can make another “The Day You Said Goodnight” to recuperate the fame they had. But whether they can come up with a hit or not the sense of the song is still way better. I hope that I would like and be hook with their up coming “hits” like what they did to me with their 1st 2 singles.

Old School

April 10 (Friday)

“easy ka lang… baka ka mahibang magmumukha kang timang”

This post may publish after two weeks due to some annoying and maddening reasons. My brother, an incoming 4th year student, will be on duty at Pampangga. They will need “daw” the laptop. I’m quite agitated that “my” laptop will be lost (knock on the wood) I hope it will not happen.

Now I’m back using pen and paper. I don’t know what I will do now since “my” laptop is not here by my side. My guitar on the other hand has a loose string and I don’t know how to replace it… damn it!! I’m blithely bored over here.

But I guess it is quite good that “my” laptop will be gone for quite some time. Because this past couple of weeks I’m just too attached to “my” laptop. I wasn’t able to do some things that I need and I really wanted to do.

Hay.. Let’s just see what will happen to me….

I hope I will not be placed on a mental hospital…

Mainstream

“iba na ang iyong ngiti iba na ang iyong dating nagbago na ang lahat sa’yo…”

I saw Lougee a while ago at Eat Bulaga doing a dance number alongside Pia Guanio and Julia Clarete. I missed the old Lougee who has long shiny hair and an indie artist and now she is into mainstream activities. I don’t know if Mojofly is still an indie band since they have a new management, Belhaus Management.

But if you think about it, Lougee really has an “artistahin” looks. She can sing, dance and act. But for me, I just loved her for being the girl who caught my attention when I heard her sings “Mata” at my radio. But even though a lot of things changed, in gigs she didn’t changed a bit. She still has this powerful voice, enormous charisma that she have back in her indie days.

There’s really nothing wrong na maging mainstream or “masa”. Like for lougee, she has characteristics to be a star. What really wrong is within me, and maybe others who thinks she is better being an indie artist. I like Yael and sponge cola back when they are still indie artist but when they became popular parang nawala yung interest ko sa kanila. Maybe because diba when you love someone you want it to be yours only. So when they became popular parang ang dami dami ng may same interest or like.

But the songs of Mojofly still matters to me. hindi naman sila sellout. Ganun pa rin I guess yung music nila.. so I will still support them. for Lougee wala akong magagawa, maganda at magaling naman siya. I guess she is just going with the flow. Pero sabi nga sa isang show sa NU 107, only dead fish swims at the current. Conncection? Ewan… hahaha…

Marcus Way

“well my lola she told me, well she told me not to smoke”

Another member of the phenomenal ex eraserhead member is making some noise again in the music scene. Marcus Adoro is definitely back now he is the frontman of his band Markus Highway. This fella wants to prove that he is no George Harrison (everytime when someone is asked about The Beatles members George Harrison is always left out)

Being in vocals seems nothing new with this guy. On his early days he was the vocals in “Honky Toinks Granny”. In that song he used the style called the spoken words. If you don’t know what I mean it is the style of Lourd de Veyra of Radioactive Sago Project. He is also behind the foodtrip talk at the end of “Overdrive”. And he is more known behind the “Punk Zappa”, which honestly I don’t know much about this.

By the way they are the Myx celebrity djs for the month of April. It is nice move since its summertime. A lot of people will be like a couch potato and glued on their tv sets. They will like “Oh I know this long haired guy… he is back!!??”

I already saw him performing at the “Tikman ang Langit” book launch. I think he is the more open in his ex- group. He sang this particular song, which I don’t know the title but it talks about “drug addict days”. I’m assuming that this is based on his real life. but as the song said, I think he already changed and have a new better life. this man is indeed talented and with his not so new band he is like proffesing to the world that he is not just another ehead member, he is Marcus Adoro of Markus Highway knocking at your door once again once more with a different kind of style and music.

Walang preno part 2

“We stand here and salute you, alma mater, alma mater. We carry forth your vision and your noble aims. No matter where we roam your spirit, ever alive within our hearts, your name proclaims”

This is from our school paper. What school? if you really read my posts you will now, if you don’t, yuck for you… hahaha!!!

Nagulat kami nung una, tapos sinabi nila kuya guard na graduation daw kasi kaya bawal yung get up namin. In short, dapat ikaw ay elegante at… sosyal?

May naalala tuloy ako sa “sosyal” nay an. Grr. Hindi siya nakakatuwa. Hindi rin siya flattering. In fact, nakakainsulto siya.

Nakakatawa.

After reading this it is like reality slapped my face intensely. Sadly, everything that is written down is true. It seems my school focuses on the “image” or looks of an individual. I remember what my Phil. Go. Co proff said. He said “di ba you are not allowed to wear flip flops at school. So be barefoot instead”. He also said that wearing flip flops or slippers will not affect your performance at school or you will be less human. And I think wearing slippers is better than wearing the standard1 inch heels because you will transfer to one building to another. Indeed, heels can affect your performance at school. hahaha! I think you know already what my school is because of what is written about being “social”. Nag-iisa lang ata kami. But yes, it is really true. I also experienced a lot of that.

Well as for dress codes this is only applicable during Saturdays for the students who have still class and during Class card giving and other events. For me, it is ok to have dress codes because we are GOING TO SCHOOL and not just anywhere else. Just like going to church we have dress codes. We have this because we are going to church which is a holy place and at school which is a place to study. But in the above situation, it is really absurd. Hindi naman sila aattend eh. Bakit kailangan pa nilang mag paka formal? Yun yung hindi ko maintindihan.

tama na sobra na!!

That will bring me to my own sentiments at my school. We have this convocation cards. You will need to attend to 10 events for the whole year. Para

Kaming high school!!! Tapos according to our manual convocation is FREE OF CHARGE. Talaga lang ha. Bakit yung concerts, yung basketball game… may bayad lahat yun!! Another is I guess every students experienced. I also remember my friend asked me why I didn’t continue to study at St. Mary’s which is run by RVM sisters. I said ang lakas mang huthot ng mga madre eh. That’s life…

Image, making money… what really is important in a school? All I know is I am studying to gain knowledge and have a bright future. But it seems I will be either the next Ms. Universe or the next urban poor.

Pls. send me prayers so it will not come about…

The Return of the Comeback

“kay tagal mo nang nawala babalika ka rin…”

Rejoice! Rejoice! 97.1 Campus Radio may got kicked out in the airwaves but now if you still don’t know it they are back and hopefully for good. Campus Radio had been in the radio scene for almost 20 years bringing you hottest pop, alternative music.

I really love the Campus Radio back then. I just loved the moderated talks and more music kind of theme they had. At that time, I’m not really a fan of radio talk shows back then. I have this mind set that talk shows should better left on t.v or AM stations. I also love their djs. Yes, they don’t talk that much but when do their spiels or conversations you could already see or hear that they are smart and witty. I don’t know, I just can’t feel it to other djs that I’m hearing now. One thing I also love and like about the djs are they are flexible and versatile. Imagine these spokening dollar djs talking in Filipino, cracking corny jokes and talking about GMA artist when they were still at Baranggay LS.

Now as I said, they are back but in different frequency. They are at 99.5 the old RT or Hit station. I don’t know if it is a good move to be on the old Hit station. Because HIT, I think it is more talk and less music. (well, I am not really a fan of HIT, I only listen to Sunday Session and Brewrats) Then of course people that will listen first at campus are all die hard fans of Hit. As a student of Marketing, I think they need to advertise a lot. They should use some “marketing strategies”. Since Brewrats is known show as for now in Campus FM, and since their djs are famous, they should use them as an advertisers. Kung kaya ng budget, why not try tv station, or kung kahit news paper lang tapos yung unang un among makikitang mukha ay yung sa tatlo, Ramon, Angel and Tado. Wala lang…. hahaha

For me, I wanted the old format of Campus Fm. I wish they will back “Other people’s music, top 20 at 12, the Rocket Launcher, campus events and others. Pero siyempre hindi hinding dapat mawala ang “Brewrats” which I think the most popular radio show nowadays. Chico and Delamar and Joey d Mango are out. Brewrats are now the “in” in radio.

Hehehe… disregard the first post I posted here. Yung bittersweet since brewrats are back. Hahaha… I hope that Campus will earn fame and respect they had when they are still at 97. I know that they deserve it after everything that happened to them. so what are you waiting for tell you’re friends that THE NUMBER 1 HIT MUSIC STATION IN METRO MANILA and as what Ramon and Tado always says AND EVEN IN SOME PARTS OF CAVITE, LAGUNA, and RIZAL like PILIA AND HALA-HALA.

Bittersweet

“Hanggang kailan maghihintay ako ay nabuburat na”

As I’m waiting for Sunday’s Sessions at 99.5 Hit Fm, I recognized the voice of the dj. No, it is not Neil. I know that voice I said to myself. Then he said he is Jimmy Jam and you’re listening to 99.5 Campus FM. So it means Hit is gone and Campus is back. I really like 97.1 Campus FM ways back. They are gone for almost one year. I think I moved on because I am listening to new radio stations and shows, like Sunday Sessions, Brewrats of Hit, and NU 107. So now, I don’t know if I will be happy but I’m really sad of what happened. Brewrats, in the other hand is still there but it is not like the show before because they are now “more music and less talk” which I don’t like if the djs are like Ramon Bautista, Tado and Angel who are amateurs as radio djs but they are really good in makes me in a good mood every night.

photos from http://brewrats.blogspot.com

Why when I already moved on now that they are coming back? Grrhhh….

Indie King

“Playing the guitar is a lot of fun!”

Ramon Bautista viewed my profile!! I’m so babaw… hahaha… I’m quite embarrassed because in my profile there’s a lot about him. Like whom I wanted to meet. I wrote there Dan Michael so hindi masyado halata. Yun yung identity niya when he is spoofing David Blaine doing some magic tricks. Tapos favorite show, siyempre Ramon Bautista Show. For the record he is my faforite dj, vj, actor, singer, rock star, dancer, comedian, magician, director, commercial model, professor, host, radio commentator, radio actor… Ang dami niyang kayang gawin. Crush ko siya… hahaha… hindi siya gwapo pero sobra siyang nakakatawa and that’s one thing I like about a guy. Someone that can make me laugh.

I’ve known him since Dan Michael days. Parang if you are in a band hindi kompleto ang pagka musician mo if you don’t have a video with him…hahaha… tapos kasama pala siya sa Strange Brew. Like sa MTV yung show niya na every top of the hour pinalalabas. Yung radio show niya.

There is one time nay un yung lang ang ina-anticipate ko for the day. Bwiset!! Nung wala pa ang brewrats I was listening to King Dj Logan. He was mentioning about a new show the same timeslot with him. parang masaya siya kasi may show like sa kanila. Tapos tamang tama 1st day pa lang nila. Nakaka brewrats!!! Leche….

But as what Ramon always says, move on…

Close

“Kunin mo na ako… walang silbi dito… Bawiin mo ang lumbay muling bigyan ng saysay… Paalam… paalam… paalam… wala kang kasalanan… paalam”

Last day of regular classes as being a 2nd year student happened last Friday. We still have a class after holy week but it is exams week. Even though I have some issues with my block mates such as they are noisy and others that I don’t wanna reveal here. I’ll miss my block mates because at some point they make me laugh. Like they like asking stupid questions. The most stupid ones came from my stupidest classmate. My professor was telling about the colonization of Spanish or Japanese in Intramuros. Then she asked “until now?” Another one is my beautiful classmate but seems it is the only one she have. She can’t read, she asks questions already asked, and she is anorexic… Hahaha! But I stayed with them for almost 2 fruitful, meaningful, memorable years indeed! Now in my third year I have different set of block mates because we are arranged according to our majors. My major is Business Info. And luckily (?) I’m still with my friends. Actually, we really have the same majors since we entered and enrolled in our school. So there… I’ll miss them…

Then my grandfather is dying… I can’t say anything… I guess I talk about it later… the first line is exactly relevant for his situation…

Jeepney stories

“Bumaba ako sa jeepney kung saan tayo’y laging magkatabi”

For almost 2 years and counting I’m commuting since I entered college. Maybe for those years I already rode in about 500 more or less jeepneys and be able to be with 1000++ people I sat side by side with.

Jeeps are the cheapest form of transportation in the land with only P6.00 for students and senior citizen and P7.50 as minimum fare. And indeed, is the most annoying form of transportation (at least for me) because of many reasons. I stated already here about the top 10 reasons why I like and don’t like riding on jeeps. Now I want to describe my feelings, the people, commuters and the drivers.

COMMUTERS

I am one of them. But I don’t know if I’m “one” of them in terms of behavior or attitudes. There are different kinds of commuters.

First the I’ll-wait- for- you- to –come- coz’- I’m -lazy kind of commuter. These are kinds of commuters who are lazy to give their fare to the driver since he/she is too far from him and he/she is the only one inside it. I’m like this when I’m wearing my skirt because it is hard for me to move.

Second, the I-will-just-look-you-are-passing-it-coz’ I’m lazy-or-autistic kind of commuter. I’m irritated by these kinds of people. They are the one who is so serious about life and I think they are autistic or have their “own worlds”.

Third, can-I-get-your-jeepney-fair-coz’-I-know-you-are-lazy kind of commuter. It is the person who does nothing with his or her life so he/she will be so kind and willingly to give it to the driver. In some cases, these kinds of people are just too kind and understanding. It happened to me one time; I think it is a staff or teacher of my school.

Fourth, I’m-head-banging-right-know kind of commuter. These are people who are listens to his/her mp3 or IPod and even if you scream at him/her, he/she can’t hear you. These kinds of commuter are funny to watch.

Fifth, the PDA commuters. There’s really nothing wrong in showing your affection to your “significant other” if it is just light. For me the “light” form of PDA is holding hands and kissing the cheeks. And the hardcore ones are the lips to lips, smooching, “harutan”, “lampungan” and you can already add some more. It is not right because according to the “jeepney etiquette”, though shall not irritate your seatmate. You should also be considerate with other’s feelings. You may let someone be jealous by your actions because he/she might remember the times when his/her exes romantic moments. And with that actions, for me it proves some things, like if you can do that in front of many people, what else you could do when you are two are alone?

Sixth, I-am-religious-or-rich--can’t-you-see commuter. These are types of commuters who are ostentatious and flamboyant. I think it is a normal kind of commuter. They are the ones who show his/her “expensive” belongings. It also goes for people who will show rosary, prayer books or what not. I know that sometime it is needed and those people are not included. What I mean with these kinds of commuters is you can “feel” it that he/she is showing you.

Seventh, I’ll-pay-you-coz’-I-know-you and you-pay-me-coz’-you-know-me commuter. Theses commuters are also funny because they are like racing to make you “libre” but I know in the back of his’her mind “ikaw dapat ang manlibre”.

DRIVERS

First is maigsi-ang-kamay-ko-di-ko-maabot drivers. I am irritated and annoyed by these drivers. They are not giving too much effort to reach for your jeepney fare.

Second, I-don’t-wanna-stop-the jeepney drivers. These are kinds of drivers who are deaf. That even you are already shouting he is not stopping it. Sometimes, they don’t stop it but he is just slowing down. One time minura ng mother ko yung driver because he is not stopping the jeep he is only slowing down.

Third, ay-di-ko-alam jeepney drivers. i hate it when they I already said that I’m a student but the change he will give is for the normal fare.

Fourth, is jeepney drivers with mannerisms. I’ve seen a lot of them. There is one driver who burps for almost 30 minutes. Then there is this driver na parang nahipan ng hangin because he kept on moving his shoulder. It is scary because he is driving and doing that mannerism baka mabangga siya.

Fifth, kilala-ko-nanay-mo-libre-kita-pamasahe drivers. I love these kinds of drivers!! I hope all of the drivers are like that.

So here are the types of commuters and drivers I’ve encounter. Some give made me laugh, irritated, annoyed, smile, sleepy, angry, hungry while I’m inside the jeep. But after everything was said and done, I can’t still live without jeepneys.

Hullabaloo

March 1 (Saturday)

“Rain rain go away isama mo na si Gma”- from the students who were rallying last Friday.

That is a statement that made me laugh. Actually a lot of things made me laugh these past few days about the news I saw and heard. First is the report of Mark Logan about what to do if you are sleepy in a Jun Lozada senate inquiry. I was laughing hysterically for the whole 5 minutes more or less report. I will try to look for it in You tube for those who weren’t able to catch that.

The pictures I saw at Sunday Inquirer were it shows the creativity amidst of the anger we have like making poster were it was edited and the protagonist in the whole ZTE NBN issue, was of course the main future. A picture of Jun Lozada in a Wolverine character. Then there was this “Mystery man” poster were it futures the “antagonists” like FG Mike Arroyo and Benjamin Abalos. Actually, you may even see it in your e-mail accounts.

And then that line from the students who attended the rally. I’m not sure what school it is but that is a true statement that youth of today is smart. Smart, for creating that funny but meaningful line. A true statement that we are “pag-asa ng bayan.”

In spite of the laughter, at the back of my mind there are a lot of uncertainties. Like what will happen in our country where we are divided in to two groups to oust and not to oust our president. But nonetheless majority is on looking for the truth but of course nothing but the truth.

I didn’t attend the rally for several reasons. But the most accepted one (I think) is that my own life is not in the perfect shape right now so why rally? I mean, my studies are not that good. I am in my “dropping dilemma” again. And now it is Philippine Go. Co. Yes it is good because it is fighting for the truth and everything, but I can do it in my own little ways.

Ode to Candor

“Ode to Candor”

Indeed, telling truth will set you free

But it is not easy as it can be

For you may hurt someone near to your heart

And can break you two apart

Truth is the only answer

In questions we always defer

Asking because we are afraid

That it can bring others to enrage

Let us not be stagnant

Let us not be ignorant

Let us search for the root

Of all evil to know the truth

God gave us life to live

So we always must give

What is worth not only for me

But also for others to feel and see

Sala

“Sariwain ang kaalaman kabutihan at paninindigan… Lahat ay may katapusan… Walang makakapigil sa atin malayang ihahayag ang damdamin…”

Corruption is like a virus that is a plaguing our country. Good thing, there is someone like Rofolfo “Jun” Lozada and Joey de Venecia that acts as doctors to this deadly disease.

I believe to the two of them. First, because of my “woman instinct”. When I saw Jun Lozada I saw the sincerity, honesty and pity on his face. I believe with Joey de Venecia’s accusation because he risked his father’s position in what he did.

Are they heroes? According to what I researched hero is synonymous to:

  • Brave man

  • Superman

  • Champion

  • Conqueror

  • Idol

  • male protagonist

  • Male lead

  • Leading actor

  • Leading man

  • Star

According to dictionary, a hero is any man admired for his courage, nobility. The central figure in any important event or period, honored for outstanding qualities.

If that’s the definition, then they are heroes. Its good thing to know that these days there is still a living hero. Then I realized, there are a lot of heroes that is not having the celebrity status that the two is having right now.

About ousting GMA, I don’t think it is the solution. Is that cycle should be? Select, Elect then Eject… I don’t think so…

Lozada went to my school. I don’t know why he needed to go there since I think he don’t have connection with our school. Maybe because Sis. Mary John Mananzan is the former president of the school and I think she is the head of the sisters (I’m not sure). pero I don’t get it still… I saw my classmates and schoolmates taking pictures and autographs of him and it is as if he is a celebrity. That is what I’m against to. I don’t like to idolize him, the Jun Lozada, since he admitted that he did bad things and also benefited from the anomalies and maybe kickbacks before. I want the people to idolize his honesty and his heroism. We should not praise him per se, but we should idolize his characteristics that he is willing to tell the truth and cure the plague by his own means

I hope that Lozada will not break our hearts. I mean a lot of people including students who believes in him and I think it should pressure him to tell the truth.

About ousting GMA, I don’t think it is the solution. Is that cycle should be? Select, Elect then Eject… I don’t think so… As a citizen of this country, if you want some change in our country start within yourself. Wala bang connection? Kung sayo wala, for me they have connection since all the actions we do affects everyone. We shouldn’t be stagnant, we should do something. We should erase the word “selfishness and greediness” from our vocabulary because that’s were corruption started.

Simula

Simula

Album Artist: Mojofly

Price: P 100.00

Tracks: 2

After 2 years, Mojofly is back with their 4th studio album “Simula”. But it is different from their other albums because it is called collector’s edition. You can only buy it in their gigs. It can never be found in Astrovision, Tower Records, Music One and the likes.

A lot of new things for this band with this album. Now they are not just three in the cover but 5. Yes, you read it right they are 5 right now. Lougee Basabas is still presenting her ever powerful voice and act as the vocalist. The most gorgeous, stunning, dazzling, striking drummer of the whole band world Ali Alejandro is also there. I thought he left the band but Ricci Gurango still plays for bass for them. He even wrote a song. Plus new 2 members, Allan Elgar, the brother of Rivermaya guitarist Mike Elgar and last but not the list, Richard Carandang of Session Road.

So let’s make simula with their song “Simula”. I really love the effects at the beginning that sounded as talagang nagsisimula. The song is about parang blind date or “nireto” by friends. I like the story, very simple yung lyrics. I like how the story evolved or progressed. Then “I don’t wann know”. Napaka sweet nito for me. kasi yung line na “I don’t wanna know what I’do without you”. Ricci wrote the song. If you think about it may pagka cheesy and emo yung meaning ng song pero ginawang happy yung beats. I love many lines like “I’ll never take you for granted, I will take less to give you more, I’ll do anything even if I done it all”. It just proved that Ricci should be around with the band because he is not only good at playing bass but also making songs. hindi patapon ang mga ginagawa niya.

I’m just quite sad because the album has 2 songs only. Bad trip! When you get this one thing is for sure you will ask for more!! Bitin eh…
Album Cover: Astig!! they combine my 2 fave colors!! tapos parang video game.

Ratings:
rock stars!!

Munting movie review

Kubrador

Produksyon: MLR films Jogii Alonzo

Mga Artistang Tampok: Gina Pareño, Fons Deza

Direksyon: Jeffrey Jeturian

Not too late to celebrate

“I know it’s too late but happy birthday”

January 21, (Monday)

I like surprises, but I don’t like to be center of attraction. And all of that things happened to me today. So my friends were cooking something for me. They let almost all of my block classmates to write on a pink paper their greetings, wishes and what-not. My 2 really good friends in college also gave me this mug where my pictures are all over the white mug. I am also happy that they contacted our schoolmate slash my friend Marge to make her own thing and let my friends from high school make a message. I’m so touched. I never thought that those people will make an effort to do those things. Because I thought they are not like that. You know, making effort just for me. So wala akong magagawa kung di ilibre sila. Tamang tama manood kami ng play. So we went to Robinson Manila first. Then we ate at Kenny Rogers.
I realized some things:
That my friends really love me
That they gave extra time just for me
That I’m stupid not knowing those things.
Nakakahiya tuloy. Tapos nung pag uwi ko napanood ko naman yung MTV ng click five na “Happy Birthday” hahaha… tamang tama… tapos my line dun na “I know it’s not too late I’ll say it anyway happy birthday”… haha saya…

I have the weirdest dreams I guess…

Eating spree

January 4 (Friday)
“Bogchi Hokbu”

My mouth has been busy chewing foods in various shapes, sizes, and tastes. We went to Hap Chang and Emerald Garden to get our orders. We will just eat in my grand papa’s house. If you don’t know what happened to him, he is diabetic and had been hospitalized last year so he can’t move without accompanying him. nakakaawa siya pero it’s his fault din because he keep on eating sweets and drinking. So ayun… it’s like a mini celebration of my birthday and my niece’s birthday.
When my grand papa saw us coming he is all smiles. Maybe because he knows that we have foods that he wanted and the same time we are complete. My father was also there were it’s very seldom of him to go to my mom’s place.

I love Hap Chang’s food as in!! I really love the broccoli with bawang. Grabeh!! We also have cold cuts, nido soup (birds nest), chicken, siomai, pata tim, and yung rice na hindi ordinary. May tawag dun eh… parang fried rice basta masarap siya…

Wow as in wow!! Sarap talaga… with all the foods I ate during holidays it seems that I’m still at my 80 pounds weight. Tsk tsk… need to eat more I guess.

Getting high with shabu…

December 29 (Saturday)

“Masdan mo aking mata di mo ba nakikita ako’y lumilipad at ngayon ay nasa alapaap na… Gusto mo bang sumama?”

I woke up earlier than the days before. My eyes opened at around 8:00. I don’t know why it is so early eh I closed my eyes around 1:00. Anyways, I’m still very depress of not having a guitar. I want a guitar now!! As in now!! Not tomorrow, not the day after tomorrow… I want now!!
Well my relatives in my mother side decided to go at SM Mall of Asia. Sinundo nila kami about 11:30. Lunch lang naman. So we ate at some fancy restaurant where they cater healthy shabu shabu. It’s not really my kind of food but why not try it. So the waiter put first some chicken stock at our individual pots. Then I ordered some kiwi shake. Then waited for some few minutes then the waiter handed us some fresh vegetables like cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, gabi, petchay and some sea foods like shrimps, crabs and clams. Then meron ding noodles, squid balls, corn, egg.. etc… So halatang may question mark on our faces we let us teach how to put that stuff in our boiling chicken stock. He told us to put first the foods that are harder to cook like corn, gabi, shrimp, crabs. Then halo-halo… then shabu shabu na!! di ko aakalain na I can eat that tapos wala pang rice or anything. Ayos!! Tapos my halo-halo kaso ang tabang. Tamang tama yun dun sa lolo kong diabetic. We stayed there for almost 2 hours. Soup lang yun ha. Nakaka high talaga ang shabu!!
Then lakad ng konti. Then went to Starbuks, bought some bread at French Baker… then I bought Urbandub Under Southern Lights!! Then uwi na. my two brothers decided to go with my lolo and lola’s house at Valenzuela.
Nung pag-uwi I listened agad sac d ng Urbandub. Hahaha!! yung inside the mind of a killer. Astig talaga… so ngayon nakikinig pa rin sa c.d… so adios for now!!

NU year

“Halika na, pumikit limutin ang problema hihintayin… Magpahinga sa panaginip ay liligaya… Dadarating din ang umaga”

Whoah!! 2008 na… parang kailan lang… well it’s 2008 and it means one thing… I’m gonna be 18!! And it means a lot of things. When I will turn 18 I can be sued na… hahaha. I can vote, drive a car, go to casinos, bars, I can be married and have a baby, watch R 18 films in short I’m in a legal age to do those things and I’m a young adult now.. Well I guess…

My dad asked me what I want to do at my b-day, I said none. Actually I just wanted us to have a vacation like go somewhere. I really don’t like having a party because it’s magastos. If they want to make gastos, use the money na lang with me not wit other people. Hahaha sugapa ba? I think na mas maganda if I celebrate my b day with my family rather with my friends. and isa pa kung gagastos na lang, sa kin na lang igastos since marami din naman akong gusto bilhin like new cellphone, digi cam, guitar na I think I will never have.

Anyways since some of my relatives in my mother side are here we will celebrate my party tomorrow at their place. We will just eat and eat and eat… hahaha… early celebration…
